A Norwegian woman was raped in a hotel room in Dubai. She called the police and they accused her of having voluntary sex, then calling them afterwards because "she just didn't like it". Then they charged her with having sex outside of marriage and drinking alcohol.

Tell me again why I should attempt to respect Arab culture in any way?

You also forgot to mention how she was fired by the company she was employed at.

She was working for a Swedish company and went on a business trip to Dubai, where she was raped. She reported it to the police and to her company, and the company asked to her withdraw her report. She refused, and subsequently got a letter of reprimand. A while later she received a letter of resignation stating that she had acted in a "dishonorable way".

It's been front page news in Sweden for the past week.
