The *only* Plex issues I've ever had are trying to sync the dozens of random documentaries that I have in that some are classified as "movies" and others as "TV shows" and some minor tagging issues.

What i do with this. I've created different folders for movies and TV shows. So i point plex movies to one folder and all subfolders and I do the same with TV. By doing this you help plex see the difference between the two. I ended up doing this because plex would think certain TV shows were random 1970s movies and tag them wrong. After splitting the two folders, i've had very little issues.
Well, I'm not getting any answer on Plex's forums so...
For those who have the premium version of Chrome's videostream app, I see that the subtitle settings allow you to move/resize them, does it work for styled (.ssa/.ass) subs or is it for .srt only?
I like how lightweight and easy to use it is, but sometimes (I'd say about half of the series I've tried) it displays the subs at XXL size, like this:
Spoiler: show
Instead of:
Spoiler: show
If that works, I'll happily sub to it for a year.
Just played around with videostream and it looks like videostream is not displaying the entire video and that's why the subs don't fit. Can see more of the left and right edges on the 2nd screenshot.
On your TV you may have to change it from w/e it's at to 16:9. If it's a samsung it might be on "actual-fit" or some shit. Some tv's you have to mess with the aspect to get it to work properly.
Yeah, noticed it right away when you mentioned it, screen was set at 16:9, with "Screen Fit" it displays the whole screen
Spoiler: show
Still doesn't explain the huge subs compared to the original ones
So i have an issue, and from the searchs I did, it seems normal, but I wanna know if anyone found a way to fix it.
I use plex, youtube, twitch NP on my Ipad PC name it, I can cast NP, my issues is websites.
Exemple my TV company has a site where you can log in, and watch either live TV or single shows, I try to cast that tab on google chrome, and on my TV sound works fine, but the image is frozen.
Anyway to fix this?
Does the same thing to me.
Chrome started doing something weird with the tab casting a few months ago. Sometimes it works great, others it does what you are talking about. I just tested it using Comcast TV streaming and it is working well. I'm using the most updated chrome browser, using the xtream bit-rate settings. When it doesn't work, i can normally cast the screen and not the tab as a work around. I should also note that i'm hardwired and not wireless.
Little update on the situation, I just did more tests
my PC on Windows 10 64 bits hardwired with Chrome latest version, has issues casting videos like i said, Sound works fine but not video
My Macbook Air 11 inches (2011) on Yosemite, WIFI has 0 problems, (well sometimes there's a little lag) but I can deal with it.
Guess my MBA will be my new Caster (outside of plex lol)
If you're interested in getting one of these you should try Target. The one I work at currently has them on clearance for $25, and they might go even cheaper on Monday. (Monday is the day electronic items go on clearance / further markdown).
It's being reported that a new model of Chromecast will be announced later this month with the new Nexus phones.
Probably want to block root users from using their device to do what it was designed to do.
