I'm in for any open leagues, just let me know
i needs to get in that BG$
Bowing out of w/e leagues I was in last year. Too busy.
I'm up for a non-money standard scoring or PPR league.
I'm back in for a few leagues I did last year, West and Draft Two Whiteys.
I don't recall if I was in any leagues last year? But I'd definitely like to get back into BG-West if possible.
I'd like to be in the money, if possible btw.
Really hope these get up and going soon, I'd like to copy and paste the settings for a irl draft im doing with friends that have never done ffb before.
I'll open money up sometime soon. Emails will go out to last seasons participants first. From there, I'll invite others if slots open.
I'm thinking about a new draft scenario I'd like feedback on. Possibly looking at, in the first 6 rounds, you MUST take one of each 6 positions. Order doesn't matter, but at the end of the first round, you must have 1 QB, RB, WR, TE, K, and Def slot filled. After that, free-for-all. Drafted like that in a live-person league and loved it. Takes a degree of strategizing.
Also, no planned scoring changes.
Drafting takes strategizing anyways, forcing someone to take a DST or K in the first 6 rounds just forces a different strategy, doesn't mean it makes it harder. I always wait till the final 2 rounds to take a Defence or a kicker. Just seems like a waste, should let people roll with their own strategies instead of basically forcing the same strategy on everyone in a draft.
So, what you're saying is that everyone has to take DEF in the 5th round and K in the 6th?
Not much strategy there.
I think he means you can draft any position you want, but only one of each until the end of the 6th when everyone has one of each. So basically the first round or two are just solid QB/RB except for a WR here and there, but no second RB until after the 6th when you can start picking those.
Gets interesting because you know what people in front and behind you can and cannot take. For instance, let's say you're 2nd and on the snake the guy in from of you needs a QB and WR. You need a RB and QB. You can leave Doug Martin alone and take a QB without the guy snagging that next best available RB. It gives a bit more balance where teams "supposed" #1s are balanced out. Puts a lot of emphasis on how well you know lesser players in rounds after 6. I enjoyed it :/
Takes away peoples individual strategies and basically conforms everyone to the same basic strategy for the first 6 rounds. I think it would give newbies a better advantage going against people who are generally better, so could be alright situationally. But if it's a league of people who know what they're doing(or think they know), than let everyone draft their own way, that way when they lose they can only bitch to themselves instead of trying to put the blame on a draft strategy that was forced upon them.
Checking in to ask (again) that commishes PM me their top 4 last year (along with e-mail addresses!) so that I can send out invites for BG Champions League.
No scoring changes to $? Broven's gonna choke a bitch
Has anyone done an offline draft with Yahoo? Fortunately I can copy either West or Champions league settings which I'll do, but I've never used them for an offline draft. I'm assuming it'll let me just plug in everyone's picks - although It'd probably be just as easy doing an online draft via a laptop but picking for everyone as the manager.
I need these people to be able to see "rankings" because they're new to fantasy, and I don't want to use a big markerboard and such.
I've done offline drafts for my money league since forever. We've tinkered with it, right now we have a 10-round auction followed by 6-round snake draft to speed up picking backups and kickers.
That said if people are new to fantasy, I would do online. Having rankings and stats on the app makes it somewhat idiot-proof.
