In the scoring system I use for BG$, the top scoring WR was behind the top 6 RBs. In standard scoring, the top scoring WR was behind 5 other Rbs. The top scoring WR scored 236 in Bg$, the top scoring WR scored 214 in standard scoring.

Like Jason Campbell's 2700 yards 12 td 11 int outscoring Edge's 1400 total yards and 7 td by a solid 10% in 2007?

Or Eli the same year throwing 3300 yards 23 td 20 int outscoring edge 283 to 195?


Hint: the problem with Welker was that you wanted him to outscore receivers that scored 3x as often and get 500 more yards, not how he compared to RB's in an era when Clinton Portis, LT, and Brian Westbrook were top tier.

Which makes it particularly hilarious that you're trying to make it exclusively wr vs rb considering we had exactly that Welker vs other WR argument multiple times. You claimed repeatedly that welker was more valuable to his team because he touched the ball more, and that's why he should outscore them all.

This was 2012. Try again. Plow, you do this dance every year. And every year you're wrong. I actually had to inflate WR scoring because they were so hampered under the OG BG league (back when we only had one). WR went to 15yards per point and .5 ppr. That's from 17.5 yards per point and .33 ppr.

Yes, QB scoring is inflated. I've never argued that, I acknowledge it. But you couldn't be any more wrong about WR.

Not sure if this is the thread to ask or if the correct thread has yet to be created but i'm looking for a little advice with my draft coming up tomorrow morning.
3rd pick in a 12 team league standard.
Charles Martin or Foster as first pick? and 2nd round would you go after the strongest RB left available or nab a top receiver.

Martin is about guaranteed to get roughly 1300 yards and a few td's, his ceiling is decently high but with how Freeman looks so far his scoring potential could be hampered pretty hard.

The other 2 have crazy high ceilings but no telling if they'll even last to week 3.

I didn't mean to start a shit show, just commenting that they aren't the rules I'd have in place if I had set everything up. But I didn't, and so they are. I'd be up for a discussion (probably for next year since we're too close to the drafts) on potentially modifying those point systems for subsequent versions of the main BG leagues (BGE/W/S/C)

It's just too fun to poke at the people that have been adamant that their systems are perfect for years when every single other person that posts about them is "holy shit those settings are dumb lol."

They really don't bother me that much, it just makes it a little harder to prepare when I have to chart scoring differentials and shit for a hugely different system than most. Plus at least it's not yahoo standard where the top 25 are qb's and full 1 ppr.


BTW, still no sign of Tyr so I dunno what's gonna happen with East, I think I'll see if I can get yahoo support to help us out as I'd hate to lose that league, although you can still look at it through personal histories.

For what it's worth, The top 16 highest scoring players last year in the crazy east/west/south scoring system were all QBs. Joe Flacco and Carson Palmer outscored Adrian Peterson. Did that happen in standard scoring? lol

(Also, yahoo standard scoring isn't 1 PPR, just checked. You can look at any league scoring setting and it compares to yahoo's standard, default is 0 PPR.)
