    Momo and her fucking Bazooka.

When you first get her though she has terrible accuracy and can't hit the broad side of a barn.

I forget how the fishing in 3 works. I remember it from 2. it's been so long... I want to replay, but there are too many new experiences to be had. sigh

and oh my god the fairy village. how did I forget the fairy village? I don't remember all of it now but there were SO many cool things you could do by abusing that shit.

but then 3 has awesome dragon combos and gene-splicing, plus portability now. and 3 nina is the best nina of all, plus the kid storyline is actually really fun. yeah I'd say 3 is the better game, but 2 has some surprisingly great moments for an old-school JRPG.
Do you know how much I fucking leveled and how long I fucking fought those two jackass horse ultraman wannabes? I still get salty til this day even thinking about it lol.

God, I loved BoF3. The graphics, the sound effects, the music. Beautiful scenery. Story was pretty simple but I absolutely loved it. It didn't try to be omgsodeep or any garbage like what we have now. All the characters were pretty likable, even Peco ...kinda...

Probably spent a good 20 hours on the fishing minigame alone. I remember my dad getting pissed off at me because I would play that stupid fishing minigame and get all excited when I pulled up a whale but I didn't want to go fishing irl lulz

I don't think I've ever been happier playing a game than when you reunite with Rei.

I think I'm the minority that loved 4 and thought 3 was ok. Felt like the master system was more refined (goals to learn new abilities instead of gain X amount of levels), liked the varied fishing spots, comboing your attacks together in battle, and it had one of my favorite soundtracks.

I never beat BoF2. Somewhere along the line I think I missed new equipment and the stuff in Infinity (I think that was the name of the final dungeon?) took friggin forever to kill.

Probably. I loved the shit out of BOF3, easily one of my top 5 RPGs of all time. BOF4 was also VERY good, just not one of my top 5 or as memorable as BOF3 was for me. Comboing attacks were definitely fun to do.

Bof 3 and four are both fantastic. I always hated child ryu in three because of bullshit horsemen cough cough. But loved his grown form and when he gets near the village with dias. I wish we still got her original form. I really love bof and how the story's tie into each other. Such as three good ending tieing into the desert in four. And lots of other hidden factors

I KNOW RIGHT!? Rei is my favorite character out of any jrpg.

    Spoiler: show
I remember being 10 or so and playing through the game and being absolutely devastated that Rei and Teepo supposedly die, and then you get wind of Teepo sightings in Wyndia. The feels when you fight Garr before the transition to adult Ryu, and then subsequent feels finding Rei trying to get revenge for what happened to you guys as a child. And then even more feels when you have to fight Teepo at the end because he's turned evil. The worst part is (iirc) he's not inherently evil either, he was just mislead by Myria.

BoF3 is probably the most feels inducing game for me.

Also yeah, BoF4 is definitely good, it just doesn't hit home with me as much as BoF3 does.

EDIT: @Chari: Yeah I know, but when you first use her and you realize she has a bazooka you're like "holy shit" and then realize she can't hit shit with it. lol

Man, all this BoF3 talk makes me want to play again and build a mage Ryu. I think once I finish all of March's games, that'll be my next thing.

BoF 3 and 4 were awesome. Still have 3 on ps1 disc that I'm glad I didn't get rid of. Am I the only one that didn't give a shit about the fifth installment?

    What fifth installment?

We don't talk about Dragon Quarter.

Good to know there are people out there with some sense still in them. Every time I think about all of the collective awesome that the series has brought, it just burns me up more and more to think about Japan cashing in on the franchise name for some quick mobile bucks. I detest Japan's obsession with smartphones, and more than that, I detest Japan's obsession with putting their citizens' game interests ahead of the world. Yes, everyone does it, but not everyone else is abandoning consoles simply because their home crowd is too busy working 20-hour days to sit on the couch and play consoles.

RIP Katt. RIP Rand. RIP Rei and Teepo. RIP Bo. RIP Dies. RIP Gainer. RIP Trubo. RIP Fou Lu.
