Someone please tell me equipping a job instinct gives you all the job's spells or something. I really don't want to level WHM.
Go abby whm you be 99 in 4 hrs. heh. Then go scribe all the spells you can get grubby hands on. Dunno is raise 3 is still expensive these days.
I had always wanted to learn all the magic in the game and now there's a practical reason to.
But Dark Knight and Red Mage UGH
So it turns out BLM/WHM is a pretty potent combo for monsters, Aquaveil > gather mobs > sleepga > aquaveil > firaja > sleepga > aquaveil > firaja > sleepga > etc. 1k dmg each cast, it beats whirl claws burning.
White Rabbit does not get 5% Double Attack from WAR Tier 1 merits as far as I can tell (15% parsed DA rate in 650 swings, 16% expected from WAR and Tiger I instincts). Lapinion does get Tier 2 merit WHM and BLM spells. I forgot to check whether or not Lapinion gets Wild Ginseng and I'm too lazy to Relinquish and go look. Onwards!
Do the merited spells work fully with # of merits? Like does 5/5 dia 3 last 2:30 or whatever?
Haven't tested them, so don't know. How is this?

My personal goal is to work on that tomorrow while I have a free day![]()
:D! Yesprz!
Did some rough parsing before bed:
Single Attacks: 1841
Double Attacks: 341 - 18.5% DA Rate
Triple Attacks: 37 - 1.6% TA Rate
This is with THF, WAR, Tiger I, and Rabbit III. I should have an 18% DA rate and a 3% TA rate. Instead I have a 1.6% TA rate and 18.5% DA rate. I'll keep testing this, but that's 2000 attack rounds and it looks to me like the THF Instinct isn't working right.
Is double attack overwriting your ridill??
So I reported it earlier, and I think a few other people did too, but it'd be nice to have a list of sorts for making the MON pages; but species have innate status resistance (it may be heavy m.eva towards one element, unsure but I don't think it's true for all of them).
Beetles naturally Resist Paralyze; Diremites naturally Resist Sleep; Crawlers naturally Resist Slow; Peiste naturally Resist Poison, Slow, and Petrify; Wamouracampa naturally Resist Slow; Ladybugs naturally Resist Silence etc.
Unfortunately it's difficult to test such things (w/o a parser anyways i'm lazy) but easy to see in practice. Many hours grinding oh mobs which inflict the effects will tell you. Diremite almost always resisted Slumber Powder, Beetle would go through 3-4 Ice Spikes mob w/o a paralyze landing (and it evaded the fuck out of Spore which made it god's gift to my sanity)
Some of those make sense due to element but the beetle and para thing is crazy since beetles are generally wind
Yeah, I was expecting paralyze to murder me as a Beetle but it has been a general non-issue. I'd love to see if someone else had conflicting anecdotal (or hard) evidence tho :<
I've gotten paralyzed less as a Beetle as PLD/PLD than a Diremite as DRK/DRK using the same leveling path
Peiste has extremely high resistance (but not immunity) to slow (EDIT: including elegy) and poison. IT mobs will miss you with slow/posion effects like 95% of the time. It may have above average water/earth resist in general, not sure, but not to the extent that it is to those status effects. IE: VT/IT stuff will still hit you for full damage from earth/water nukes a decent amount of the time.
It is also extremely resistant/possibly immune to petrify. I'm not sure if that will apply to it's own calcifying mist thou, it seems unresistable. I have yet to see it not take effect, or not land for the full 3 minutes on anything at all, including NMs like 20 levels higher than my peiste.
EDIT: Should note resistances may differ between skins of the same mob family. I know some aby reskins like apademak/alfard had very different element/status resists compared to the normal versions.
