So on bats my power attack and rhino attack do about the same amount of dmg. But on pots Power does significantly more this suggests that Power is blunt while rhino is slashing for some reason. Though admittedly only did around 3 rhinos on pots but the difference was rather big like 209 vs 360. Anyone else notice that?

Beetles naturally Resist Paralyze; Diremites naturally Resist Sleep; Crawlers naturally Resist Slow; Peiste naturally Resist Poison, Slow, and Petrify; Wamouracampa naturally Resist Slow; Ladybugs naturally Resist Silence etc.

Unfortunately it's difficult to test such things (w/o a parser anyways i'm lazy) but easy to see in practice. Many hours grinding oh mobs which inflict the effects will tell you. Diremite almost always resisted Slumber Powder, Beetle would go through 3-4 Ice Spikes mob w/o a paralyze landing (and it evaded the fuck out of Spore which made it god's gift to my sanity)
Yeah, I noted Morbol's amazing resistance to dark (but not light)-based sleep. I had numerous Sleep, Sleepga, and Sleep II spells cast at me, Hypnosis used, etc and only was ever put to sleep by them about twice. (Lullaby worked fine.) And yet, I was terribly, terribly vulnerable to dark-based blind; it was annoying me so much that I learned and set Samurai's Instinct with its +30 Resist Blind, and still was getting blinded all the time. And yes, it was specifically dark-based blind, from the black magic spell, skeleton's Black Cloud TP move, etc. I already knew that Flash had a very high accuracy and was not surprised with that. So I'm at a loss to explain this.

    Double Attacks: 341 - 18.5% DA Rate
    Triple Attacks: 37 - 1.6% TA Rate

This is with THF, WAR, Tiger I, and Rabbit III. I should have an 18% DA rate and a 3% TA rate. Instead I have a 1.6% TA rate and 18.5% DA rate. I'll keep testing this, but that's 2000 attack rounds and it looks to me like the THF Instinct isn't working right.
Maybe SE fucked with multihit prio for monstrosity and gave it DA>TA instead of TA>DA

Christ almighty, Scorpion starts with Sharp Strike and Mandible Bite both for 100 TP.

Sharp Strike is approx 40-50% Attack Boost with a duration of 3 minutes and Mandible Bite is 200% physical damage. Poison Sting at 10 but I've only used it like once (80 TP and didn't have a good DoT guesstimate)

    Lv1 Mandible Bite - 100 TP - 200% dmg
    Lv1 Sharp Strike - 100 TP ~50% Attack Boost for 3min
    Lv10 Poison Sting - 80 TP - moderate dmg (75-80% of normal) + poison
    Lv20 Cold Breath - 100 TP - HP/8 = dmg dealt; 13y' conal

    high resistance to poison

The high resistance to poison isn't surprising considering that most non-player scorpions are utterly and totally immune to it. (Scolopendrids might be an exception? I forget.)

I'm thinking that this special monster resistance is separate from and gets checked after the normal resist traits, and that it is set on a per-status basis rather than using categories. My morbol was near-immune to sleep without getting any "Resist!" messages for it, but after setting morbol instinct II which has all status resistance +20 I still can't be slept worth a damn but now start getting "Resist!" for it all the time. Also, there is the fact that while the sleep status slides off my morbol, lullaby works fine--but lullaby is internally a different status with a different status number than sleep, one that just happens to be coded to check the Resist Sleep trait as well. It's also separate from elemental resistances as my heavy sleep evasion did nothing against dark-based blind nor did my customization: faculties screen ever show any dark elemental resistance.

My peiste has displayed near immunity to slow, poison, and petrification. I can count on one hand the amount of times that I was hit with slow and poison in my 16+ level romp through Crawlers' Nest, and Baleful Gaze never landed on me from the lizards.

Glorious, ain't it. Sleep doesn't land too often either, but blind is your major weakness.

And Calcifying Mist is broken as shit.

Yeah Calcifying Mist is pretty fucking ridiculous. Even with 2k or less HP left I engage IT++ mobs without fear because I know the petrify will mature before I can die. Has gotten me lots of chain 6 and 7s that I otherwise wouldn't have gotten. I'm honestly surprised that we get it at such a low level and that it isn't purple peiste only or something.

Does your slow immunity extend to Elegy? If my theory on how monster resistances work is correct, it won't.

Are there any paths that need to be worked on/figured out? I'm just getting around to trying out the content and can focus on something people haven't done much of yet if possible.

Also, is there a list/diagram of how the unlocks progress? I'd like to get peiste eventually and haven't really been keeping up to the date with how the unlocks work.

EDIT: I read that to be able to use a spell as a monster your character needs to know it? I only have blm and rdm to 50, so i won't be able to use any spells normally learned after 50? That's shit.

I can second this, I think. Went to Gusgen at 16 and found a rabbit AoEing all the lower skeletons, so I said fuck it and went to Ghouls (IT). Normal attacks did 40-60 but power attacks did 170+. Leveling to 12 in ronfaure saw 90~ dmg melees at 115~ from Power Attack.

So, it either has a large attack bonus, is blunt damage, or both. I'm leaning towards just the blunt damage bit, though.

If you look at Blue Mage spells, it shows Power Attack as Blunt damage. I'd say that it's a pretty good chance that it is and that's why the skele's are dealt extra damage.

So, I can't believe I'm entertaining SE's ridiculus notion of unlocks at 75, but where can I level tiger 60-75? I'm currently at Starmites, those start turning EM at 65, so where next?

You should take that camp to 66 or 67 and then jump to Zeruhn Mines, if they let denigrates such as tigers taint the sterling reputation of the mines.

There any ideas on where to level a blue box mob (goobbue) after like 50? Or do we just leave it and hope they add new zones in later updates. The zone restriction is rough.
