wow settin up a SA on multiple mobs at one time sounds like a pain in the ass unless mobs jsut happend to line up with backs toward you, without the assistance of someone holding their attention somehow, Unless you get Bully as a monster?

Well the weird thing is the few times I tried it it worked when only the main target was positioned right from what I remember... but that's been a few updates ago and spiral spin is such a meh move it wasn't really worth exploring. And bully only would help with 1 monster... if you were some kind of thf/blm mob it wouldn't be too hard to position though.
In what probably doesn't surprise anyone Soul eater + AoE physical is funny as hell. Nothing like dropping 6k of your own hp at once lol. Nice for the dmg RoE though.
Someone mentioned sleeping the mob to setup SA so wouldn't it work nearly as well just using sleepga on multiple mobs? If you have them positioned in the right way, like against a wall almost all of them should have their positioning right for a SA?
I feel more like what's being said is that if triggering a SA WS on a valid target will just make it force crit on everything regardless of its positioning. Only reason why we don't see this from the THF job would be because all its AoE WS are magical, and thus won't pair with SA. Kind of reminds me of how Campaign AoE WS used to get screwy when dealing with multiple targets and SCs.
Actually on player thf job you can get circle blade. But even with correct positioning with them all and even with hide it doesn't apply to other targets at all. Same goes for other jobs/thf again even with hide. I'm guessing it's one of those things that works one way for players and different for everyone else.
Also cock 3 is 20 att 2% DA and 3% crit dmg for 6 points
I am currently working on lady bug, and it seemed to just do more damage if i used a tp move (before actually claiming the mob) from behind even without SA (not like a crit hit damage but more damage whether it be 20 or 60 more dmg) I noticed it happen bout 2-3 times then tried bout 5 times to specifically TP move to the face and from behind also. Perhaps i just got lucky with those, but about this time i got sneak attack and started to just use that. Prolly just complete coincidence. I will play around with this SA spiral spin thing you guys are talkin about for multiple mobs. It sounds interesting.
I decided to try and level up everything to 30 with the double exp going, Since even if i am payin 10k per instinct, I seem to be hitting the cap and either having to switch to beligerance or spend it to not waste the exp > infamy conversion. I dont have much to buy over 10k yet cause i only have a hand ful of mobs over 30. and since the beligerancy places are limited i am trying to get everything at a point where i can just stick to those 3 zones if i have to and not lose infamy cause im capped. i dont want to end up where the only things i have to level are under a level that can go to bubu and be at 10k with nothing to spend it on. Also once it get it going where everything can do beligerancy i can stay a NM and work up to hnm.
And now with RoE going I am tryin to be mindful to switch to something higher level to take advantage of a 5k RoE quest reward so i dont waste it being a low level mob that only take 700 to ding. I am really behind (i have rabbit tiger slime spriggan @30, and all the vermins to 30 except lady bug and whatever i need to take things higher than 30 to unlock like antlion.)
Get HNM status first it makes leveling so much easier when you are in those zones. Once you get HNM status, keep it. Like if you want to buy a 20,000 skin, farm up 40,000 infamy then buy the skin. Just make sure you play it safe.(if you have those types of people on your server)
Dont worry too much about wasting infamy either. You'll be wasting a ton before you're done.
I have 3 skins left to get, rabbit 75>90+(7.5k infamy) sheep 60>75 and Mandragora 66>90. I have all the purchasable instincts. Infamy really isn't an issue.
Is there a cap to infamy when HNM, I think its the only thing i havent heard about being beligerant? I think i will at least unlock antlion and gnat and then follow your advice (I am not that far away from either unlocks and chances are i will do it with pvp unlocked.) thank you very much jimbobsonofgod!
Surprisingly to me i havent seen a single "gladiator" on my server. there is rarely anyone in those three zones and if there is they are monsters or outside a Maw. But from the small bits and pieces i have read those necks arent too great so maybe no one cares. Wasnt there pictures originally of at least body armors that were sposed to come from prestige at some point? ive thot about maybe fightin my mule (as a gladiator) but i wasnt sure if there was much point to it now.
50,000 is the current infamy cap. At this point unless you're a die hard smn, no real point in doing torque( Though I did spend the time to get HCG during the last EXP Campaign).
Also I wouldn't worry too much about not getting infamy because of either the hard cap of 50k or the soft one of 10k without belligerance. Aside for the occasional subspecies buy there doesn't seem to be much point in accumalating more. I got 2 more torques to go thru which I think I'll be able to finish in a couple of days but doesn't look promising.
It might be slighlty different now with RoE but before other zones were generally better for xp even without the bonus set points aside from certain level ranges like 14-28 in buburimu and 60-70ish in ull though wasn't too bad after that. Xarc has a couple decent areas but they often camped. Partly it's easier to find mobs just the right level difference for max xp and chains but actually killable in a reasonable amount of time, part of it is they are spread out a bit more for the most part in xarc/ull, and partly because the mobs in xarc/ull are just a pain.
Belligerence and large mob farming go pretty much hand and hand
Bub 15-25
Xar 40-50
Urange 54-57 + 60-67 then again at 83-87ish.
Where do you go betwixt 57-60, 67 to 83, and then 87+ ? Also prestige and infamy cumulate (sp) separately correct? i was gonna play with my mule as a gladiator but the fact i coudlnt use chocobos while set up to do so ended that shit real quick.
True large mobs don't really have much selection in zones. But there is still some stuff you can do. I forget what I did at low levels but 35-45ish goblins in zitah. Altepa might be nice but haven't tried a big mob thru that range since we got it so xarc it was till mid 50s. 55-63ish Aht Urhgan Attercop/lesser colibri. Wild Karakul from 60-68ish. Nice line of them in an area with no aggro and the chigs they spawn get 1-2shotted for extra xp. Then trolls in the thickets till about 70 if I didn't get there from the sheep. Than Marids till 78ish. You could do imps in there but most the monsters I'd played thru there really like there magic and/or tp moves and the extra xp from the chigs the marids spawn is pretty awesome and then the same reasons I fought the sheep apply. Then Seaboard Vultures till 83. Then probably back to bub depending on the mobs since the highest thing you can kill are the Scowlenkos and they are only 86-87 and a pain for alot of jobs. Though I loved them on wamoura. Oh you thru 4 debuffs on me? How about I remove them and heal myself for 3k lol
And yes you can only gain prestige as a gladiator and it's the only thing that can be used to get the items which is why it's been so slow getting them
I just go starter zone 1-13, Bubu 13-25, Qufim 25-30, Beauce 30-40, Xarc 40-50, Ule 50-67, Zeruhn 67-75, Ule 75-80 and then I don't remember.
Was checking what otherwiki had on monstrosity (specifically instincts) and found this little nugget... has anyone come across this?
"Death Instincts
It is sometimes possible to learn a job instinct by dying.
Monk's Instinct was learned out in Uleguerand Range (as a Smilodon) after dying to a Tyrannotaur from Mortal Ray (Doom). Upon dying, the message "You have learned a new instinct!" was displayed. It was approximately 10 deaths."
I tend to ride starter zone to 15 and bubu to 30~34 since it always seems faster than hopping to another zone; 34 in bubu allows you to go straight into goblins in Beauc and skip most of the shitty tigers
Right now, THE best experience for any monster should be 12-99 Buburimu. Melee you'll get 90k an hour or so, (assuming you're not a garbage monster like Slime, Flytrap, etc, otherwise, like 50-60k max) riding 100 monstrosity kills, 200 kills, earth and fire crystals. If you have a mage job, specifically BLM and the right Instincts (INT and Earth MAB or MAB in general; 26-37+57ish INT is key), you can ride Stone II and 1 shot EVERYTHING, for about 500-570ish damage, which allows for the 500 damage RoE trial as well. As a BLM model I'm making 140k an hour, so 90 for melee, 140 for BLM. RDM works too, but Stone I will take 2 shots to kill anything, sometimes 3 based on resists/wind weather procing you.
