Bat Instinct III: Attack+10, Double Attack+2%, Nighttime: Accuracy+40 Cost: 6
Hippogryph Instinct III: Resist Gravity+30, Triple Attack+3%, Critical hit damage+5% Cost: 10
Colibri Instinct III: Magic Defense Bonus+5, Haste+2%, Cost: 10
That's fucking all, 2 things and complete shit to boot for 10 points. I'm hoping it's a mistake, cause nothing else gets 2 things, it's all 3. If not, ughhh.
All that's left is Apkallu to figure out unless someone else is close to it, I may tackle it, but fuck me, after Colibri I'm really let down.
What the hell is the point of making colibris first move snatch morsel lol?
Apkallu Instinct III: Def+20, PDT-5%, Converts 1% of physical damage taken to TP Cost: 12
I take back what I said about Apkallu being terrible; it wasn't really that bad once I figured out how to handle its shortcomings. Basically, load up on attack, critical hit/damage and pull 3-5 VT mobs at a time based on what you feel safe to handle and it goes by pretty fast. Counterstance obviously and use Wing Whirl as your choice of attack. Leveling wise, it's a bit slow for Colibri levels due to Feather Tickle, but 70-78 Imps, 78-82 Seaboard Vultures, 82-86 Mayfly in Gusgen Mines, east side map 2, then 86-90 on Donjon Bats in Garlaige Citadel.
Slime truly does take the cake for worst monster to level now. Anyway, here's an idea of what I used for leveling, mix and match accordingly:

Even without counterstance it couldn't compare to chigoe at higher levels. Thank god for level capping and just nuking stuff at 30 now.
Also not sure but the nin/mnk version seems to hit harder at least at lower levels. It also gets whiteout. Not sure when exactly but it has it by 60. Kinda neet having aoe dmg and sleep combined. Unfortunately it costs 300 tp and does shitty dmg and sleep doesn't seem to land on dark enemies as expected
Edit: Hmmm seems it has a hidden additional effect of curse.
Got a question about Elasmoth cuz I can't find anyone willing to fight it. Is Souleater nerfed vs players or will I just be one shotting them if I managed to hit them with full HP?
I've been too afraid to use it against my mule but it hits full potency against my mules pets so I'd imagine the same would apply to the master
Wonder if they'll give us a way to become Monoceros/Alicorns for the new years event
Oh boy, just what everyone wanted
Yeah it's not like we didn't already have 6 others...
The New Year Mandragora is a MNK/NIN if folks care![]()
So been playing around with leafstorm and it does seem rather interesting. Or odd depending on how you look at it. It says it does magic dmg and it does kinda consistenish dmg but not exactly but it's resist states are fairly odd. Like one even on ep/dc it very rarely is doing full dmg. But on top of that sometimes it seems to do something that is between 1/2 and full.... and well I had a complete miss as well against a crab lol. That said it's full dmg isn't bad. Despite treant's int,chr and mnd being it's lowest stats and odds are one of those stats are used for it it's still a good 350 at lvl 30 with no mab instincts and only 5 for mnd and int. Might be worth figuring out
Soporific seems rather accurate. Landing it fairly easily on DC bogys
So, I noticed Hippogryph's Choke Breath deals "sonic" damage. I assume it's distinct from "Non-elemental", as the help text probably would have said that if it were the case. Do we know what elemental alignment sonic is? Or how it interacts with other elements? Only info I've been able to find is just the Requiem articles.
Also, Ferromantoise's Testudo Tremor has "Additional Effects: Heavy, stun". Do we know how Heavy differs from Weight?
