2 of these in the past 2 days, this ones just a tad bit bigger than a quarter, the one the other night was near twice the size of this one. Fuckers jump too, what species is it exactly anyone know?

Nursery web spider of some sort... dunno species offhand, probably Dolomedes genus. That one's male and lost a leg 1-2 molts ago. Harmless.

Not even close Kerb. Those aren't roamers nor house interlopers.

The one pictured is likely a Hobo spider, Tegenaria Agrestis. Nasty bites from those little fuckers and aggressive too. Most easy to identify by the long bulbed pedipalps on males which are the more common encounter, the racing-striped thorax and checkered abdomen make it a solid identification. Smash that douchebag. Better yet, razorblade half his legs off and feed him to a friendlier web spider.

Thing is, the other one you talked about sounds too big to be one, and was probably instead a Tegenaria Duellica or Gigantea. Common house spiders from Europe, the latter can be up to three inches across from tip to tip (there are beastly ones in our garage), but these guys are absolutely harmless. Further, they eat the aggressive little bastard spider in your picture, so leave them be.

It's coming up on mating season for all these domestic spiders, so you'll see plenty of roaming males soon. They have something like an anti-cockroach response where when you turn a light on they'll freeze in place.

Notice, in the first image, that it's goddamn gigantic. Tegenaria Gigantea. Geddit? Also notice that even though it has the long pedipalps (the shorter arms at the front), they don't have the really round bulbs of the Agrestis. Notice the second picture doesn't have the ridiculous leg profile of the Gigantea? That's a Duellica. Again it has the long pedipalps, but they still don't have the really round bulbs on skinny arms, more of a tapered teardrop shape instead. This one is closer to the size of Agrensis, but you can easily tell them apart by these being closer to black in color rather than brown (at least around here in the PNW), and the more consistent pattern across thorax and abdomen, a bit tabby instead of long thick stripes up front and a coarser more snakeskin pattern on the back. It also lacks the two uh... 'butt spikes'. Those are another good tell for an Agrestis.
