anyone have any advice on leveling beetle? lv48 now and doing funnel bats in garlaige. everyone talks shit on flytrap but beetle has pretty shitty ws' too

i took flytrap to 30 so i know it sucks, but it at least seemed to attack fast. :/ power attack is basically just an extra hit.

what lv is rhinowrecker? i just hit 51 and went to switch to the lancing model and i dont think i wanna switch from pld > whm lol

Rhinowreckers Lv 50, gives a fairly potent defense down effect and its rdm/pld not whm. Wonder why its not listed on the wiki still.

Its better than Power Attack, usually do about 500 on vt+ unless it is a slime, higher on toughs. Def down duration seem short about 15-45sec eyeballing it.

When it's said you need lvl whatever to unlock a species do you have to be on that or just have it that lvl?

Once you hit the Level, You'll see a message saying something like "You've unlocked the ability to morph into another species" or something, this signifies a new skin or a new monster family. As far as the ones you need to purchase, You have to be on the specie that unlocks it to purchase it iirc?

Well. 75 tiger/coeurl/opo unlocks nothing. I don't know if I should take the time to level rabbit to 75 as well or if opo 80/90/99 unlocks something.

EDIT: I attempted to buy new beasts while on every beast skin I have from the rabbit path. I'm still not sure how the purchased mobs works as my path has not had any unlocks. It seems like there is no msg and you should be able to buy it on skins, since there were the initial mobs you could buy from any skin.

Funguar gets Shakeshroom at 40(dark damage+disease for 175% TP). Silence Gas at 50(fan shaped dark dmg + silence for 150tp). Coppercap unlocked at 50.

The Antlion does get Gravitic Horn, though I don't know what TP cost it is. Maybe 220?

JP wiki lists 60 for pachypodium and the spirits quest. I'm not sure if it is unlocked by the quest, or if the quest is in addition to. My mandragora is nearing 60, so I'll know later today. A regular harvest of the golden seed pouch was only pachypodium spirits. Further harvests included dyer's woad, pot of yellow viola (a furnishing), papaka grass, and asphodel, and marguerite.

17 beetle spirits, 4 antlion spirits, and 24 pachypodium spirits so far, 51k bayld left. I could get the last one today, but then I'd be out of bayld because enter spammers had to vote for the flag instead of the bay roof.

I guess I can do some marjami reives and do the pioneer's op at the same time to try to get bay roof instead of main terrace this week to expand mog gardens...not like it'll help though.

For what its worth, I use the Chestnut Tree Sap on the Grove in my Mog Garden. My tree is Rank 1 and these are my 3 Results.

... So, Chestnut Tree Sap is great for an extra couple Spirits inbetween your planting.

So I used most of my remaining bayld to save 20 hours, and unlocked Pachypodium via Suibhne with 25 pachypodium spirits. It only asks for the spirits when you are on the base mandragora. Pachypodium is Mnk/Mnk and has the same abilities and stats as the base mandragora, but it also gets Petal Pirouette. Its level is linked to the rest of the mandragoras. There is the purple abyssea skin left, which likely unlocks at lv 75 or 90. Perhaps it needs Pachypodium unlocked, perhaps not. The message upon completing the quest was "You can now possess a new species!"

I checked to see if it sneakily unlocked any of the HNMs to buy by doing the quest, but nope.

I see no reason for anyone else to rush their pachypodium spirits with Grow-M-Good. Lycopodium is likely still better for leveling mandragora for being mnk + whm; I was hoping Pachypodium would be rdm/mnk, but alas, dissapointment.

Have pushed rabbit to 65 and nothing new. Will get 75 tomorrow and then likely either do 99 Opo (please don't make me SE) or sheep and a few of the mobs down that path in hopes that its a combo between the two. I'm starting to think its 99 Opo as gnole and manticore are not purchased. It feels like they need to be unlocked and then something with them will cause behe and/or cerb to be added to the npc.

Is anyone actively pursuing a similar path that I have mentioned, so I don't end up doubling up on it?
