Because that one Tech commercial was just so damn annoying.
I realize Paul Finebaum is the homerest of homers for Alabama and Auburn, but if he really thinks Auburn and OSU should play for national championship over an undefeated FSU, we seriously need to re-evaluate his credentials.

I don't fault Sarkisian for taking the job, but I feel very negative for USC not offering it to Orgeron. I'm not high on Orgeron, don't get me wrong, but to go 6-2 after what Kiffin did you deserve at least a 2 year contract to see what you can do. No class, USC, no class at all.
He was saying that if Winston got charged and couldn't play, that FSU should be dropped to #3 which is absolutely ridiculous. Winston is amazing and all, but the team could win without him.
ehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Um, FSU isn't a top-2 team in the nation without Winston.
It's going to be a moot point anyway because Winston isn't going to be charged, but....
To the people who haven't been watching every FSU game I can understand how you would think that, but while Winston is by far the biggest offensive weapon FSU has, he certainly isn't alone. First you have the running back trio of Freeman (852 yards, 12 TD), Williams (650 yards, 10 TD), and Wilder (517 yards, 8 TD). Next, you have the kicker Aguayo who is 18-19 on FG and 84-84 on XP. Then you have the defense. FSU has the #1 scoring defense and #2 in points given up. FSU has outscored opponents this year 644-132. To put this even further into perspective, FSU's kicker (138) has outscored FSU's opponents' combined season score (132).
With those offensive tools at his disposal, plus a defense that would give up 17...maaaaybe 21 points against OSU or Auburn, any semi-competent college level QB should be able to win that game.
I do agree, however, that Winston would absolutely be needed to beat Alabama if they were to meet. But I guess Auburn fixed that for us.
It took FSU almost 30 minutes to score two TDs on Florida
Fucking Florida man. That's bad.
GATA
It took years for Plow to become the Big 12 flag bearer. The ACC has one "okay" year out of the last 5-10 and suddenly their 2nd string can run the table?
FSU without Winston would get piledriven by anyone else in the top 10.
Don't take this to mean FSU isn't good. But like UGA's bit with injuries or Auburn having 3 million horseshoes up their collective outlined asses, this is almost stuff you can't control. FSU is where it is, and they shouldnt be punished for it if something outside their control happens.
having a great offense is a huge help to a defense. losing Winston would affect both sides of the ball. you can't assume they give up the same amount of points every game with way more 3 and outs, turnovers, sacks taken, etc
So you are going to completely ignore the nation's best defense, field goal kicker, and pretty damn good 3 man running back rotation? OK then. Ohio State has won every game in the Big Ten thus far, but they have had some close ones even with their star Braxton Miller. FSU hasn't been threatened by ANYONE, and it's not just because of Winston.
stop mentioning the kicker lol
And UGA lost Murray with one game to play. We came out anemic against Georgia Tech of all teams and needed OT to beat them despite our backup having the EXACT same skillset and playbook.
One player may not mean much to team success on the large scale, even a player as dynamic as Winston. Though that same player does have a massive role on a game to game scale with regards to how their presence affects other phases of the game and losing someone like that CAN have a massive impact.
If FSU was able to re-do this entire year without Winston for comparison with everything else on the team the same, even the kicker, I guarantee you they would not be undefeated.
I think this is the main clashing point here...I'm not suggesting they would be undefeated all year with a different QB, I'm saying that they can definitely win their last two games with 3rd string QB Sean Maguire. Again, I absolutely think they would need Winston to beat Alabama, though.
