    The difference isn't shedding tear after, it's doing it out of self defense (everyone he's killed besides the 2 drug dealers... which Walt technically killed).

    Except for the whole part where they were gonna use Gale instead of Jesse to destroy the Mexicans. They weren't gonna kill Jesse and expect Walt to keep working.

    What does that have to do with anything? They were going to kill walt too at that point. Gale was being groomed to replace Walt, and once he was self-sufficient they were going to kill Walt. Jesse was already on the run, with Mike asking Saul where to find him, and then Walt bargaining with knowledge of where Jesse is hiding to save his own life at the laungry (by telling Jesse to kill Gale). They wanted to kill Jesse and were after him. Gale lives = he cooks, no need for Jesse/Walt. Killed Gale = needs Walt to cook, won't cook unless Jesse is kept alive.

    That doesn't happen until after all of this Gale situation happens.... after Jesse earns Gus's trust.

    And yeah, I noticed that. Also Flynn spits that same "WHY DONT YOU JUST GIVE UP AND DIE ALREADY" comment to Walt on the phone.
