I was kinda annoyed how Walt died accidentally. He didn't plan on letting the machine gun kill him (if he had and it worked, Todd may well have survived) and it let Jesse off the hook to make a real decision, since he saw the wound and figured he was a goner anyway. After 5 seasons of calculation, one random bullet out of a thousand being his downfall is kind of a cop out.

I think they kind of covered it in Talking Bad. You could kind of think of it as Walt was going in the club house to die. Until he saw Jesse was not fully cooperating with them and was a prisoner did he decide to save him. The bullet was just a way for him to die after Jesse said no, I thought Walt was going to cause some type of chemical reaction in the cook room and blow it all up. In a way him saving Jesse and getting shot made the ending perfect. It let Jesse off the hook after the show is over, seeing how everyone still though Heisenberg was still cooking it all.

Just to clarify, Walt didn't "see [that] Jesse was not fully cooperating with them and was a prisoner". He knew that as soon as he knew Jesse was alive. Every single thing we know about Jesse's character and the situation as it was left when Walt last saw him points to the fact that he would never willingly work with Jack.

As we've seen a couple of times in the show already, Walt manipulated his enemy's pride to turn the situation in his favor. Accusing Jack of partnering with Jesse was a major affront to Jack and bought Walt a little time to get back into the position of power.

Jesse's fingerprints being all over the lab is an entirely moot point. Of course he's heavily connected to everything that's gone down. Whatever happens to him next is obviously up for debate, but you have to imagine he'd get the fuck out of dodge

Jesse's ending is a bit up in the air as to what will actually happen to the character now that's he's free. Given that the cops will have flooded the compound and it's possible that his confession tape may still be there along with other evidence to place him in the lab. That said I think it's still possible that he could come out of this with a happy ending with the amount of evidence he can supply against Walt and the Nazi's a plea deal should be an easy get if he did get caught.

I don't know how else they could have resolved the episode without leaving us wanting answers. If Walt had survived and been arrested, what would have happened next? If he'd survived and escaped, what would have happened next? Would you have wanted to watch any scenario with an open ending?

I liked how Todd was still alive and exclaiming about what Walter had done instead of running or defending himself. I think he thought he was safe, although he didn't show much emotion about his family/friends getting killed. It's not like he reached for a gun straight after and started shooting people.

solid ending was solid, Jesse's box and Walt's confession to Skyler were out of sight, but the show did take the safest, most conventional route; was expecting Vince to Vince us one last time

ending was great. walt got he wanted, to be able to provide for his family after his death. jesse got to murder todd for FREEEDOM and andrea and brock(teh feels). i do agree it was pretty nice that walt died there and made it look like he'd been cooking the whole time, which left jesse with his FREEEEEEEEEEDOM.

lots of things could've gone differently but I'm happy it ended the way that it did.

10-11ish months? Doesn't he celebrate 51 at beginning of 5a and dies on 52 in finale? Probably took them a month, maybe 2, to get from that point to the end.

S5E14 was Jesse's kidnapping.
S5E16 was Walt's 52nd birthday.

So, how long passed between episode 4 and 14? My conclusion from looking this over is that it had to have been at least 4 months or so. They robbed the train and cooked a shit ton of that meth, which must have taken some time. The Vamonos thing was going on for a little while. Plus, the tailing of Mike happened for a while, and it definitely took Hank many weeks working through finding a way to pin down Walt, didn't it?

We know for sure Walt was in NH for a while, though. I believe the way they talked when the dude visited him it wasn't that dude's first visit, and he visits every 30 days, right? In fact, when talking about doing the chemo, I think they mentioned the dude had helped him a couple times before. So at least 3 months, right.

So, I'm thinking it was a handful of months, half a year at most?
