The difficulty curve has definitely been rounded out over time. My barbarian couldn't handle Inferno Act 2 back when I played but he was able to reliably play Torment 1 when I started again with RoS.

I found it interesting that they nerfed the repeatable Talk to Alaric quest but not the actual story quest, when you first encounter it on each character.
All quests have a higher first time reward. Just assuming that one slipped under the radar.
MY GF and I decided to start playing Diablo III (without RoS) on PS3. We created a character on my account, should we create a seperate one for her or will it matter? Also, any areas that we can quickly grind for XP/gold. LOL.
Lack of adventure mode limits things. If the change carried over to console vanilla, though, running Fields of Misery and Halls of Agony 2/3 are generally pretty dense. Unless your gear is good, I wouldn't select the highest difficulty you can manage, maybe one or two back to just steamroll.
Got my first SOJ (Ancient!) last night:
Also, I was wondering which of these ammys is better for a Firebird Wiz? I started using the Fire% one, but I'm not sure if that is correct. Thanks!

I want to say the Countess because of the 20% fire. Unless you're lacking on the crit hit chance, the extra 20% + 20% CHD should math out to be higher.
I have no idea what I'm doing on WD haha. I picked up a Quetzacoatl head around LV 65 and have been just running with Haunt (2 spirit rune) as the primary damage spell. It works pretty well; just spam it, run, and it kills and spreads through everything quickly. Once cast effectively kills most elites with a Locust Swarm and Piranas tossed in.
There's either the pet build or the Jade Harvester 6p quetz where you apply dots, hit ghost walk + Soul Harvest for 1 billion+ damage, repeat a bunch of times.
My friend's build: http://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculato...ld!TSWe!Yacbba
Got my first Unity on Normal >_>
How does Creeping Death work exactly? Its description is so vague and even Googling yields poor results. From what I've read, it makes your Haunt / Locust DoT damage and Piranhas dmg amp last 5 minutes (with Quetz, the DoTs last 2.5 minutes). But how does that affect anything other than a RG or similar? For example, I cast Haunt on a random white mob by itself, mob dies in ~2s, and passive does nothing. If I'm in a group of mobs and cast Haunt, does it mean Haunt will now jump mob to mob for 2.5 minutes?
With Creeping Death + Quetz you get the normal duration but twice the damage. With Jade Harvester set bonus you compress the time to single tick of duration but the all the damage which turns the DoT into a burst damage and tends to powermelt just about everything up to grift 40 effectively. Only Pet and Tiki builds are really viable after that.
Pets are also lots of fun but even with the supposed boost to SMK droprates it still is a bit of a luck grinder getting all the critical pieces.
Welt, check the elemental damage in your character sheet (mouse/hover over the +element part). If you are 50%+ without the Countess, I can see the Ouro being better. Ouro might still be better. I know DPS isn't a good source since IAS inflates it, but elemental DPS is a bit more reliable, I think. Also, using anything that procs on crits?
@theshun:
If you're talking about my +Fire% damage, its at 113%. I don't think I have anything that procs on crits.
I just found my first SOJ, Unity, and RoRG all in the last 3-4 hours of playtime. I put on a gimp-ish (previous ring gives me +21% dps...) RoRG so I could equip Cindercoat.
I'm having a very hard time of telling whats actually a better setup >_>
Use the elemental DPS number. It'll give you a better idea than the actual white DPS number.
You're going to need to start using a DPS calculator if you really want to know what's going to be a DPS increase and what isn't.
Not much detail was given about the next update but we got a little bit to work with.

I wonder if they will launch it during season 2 or save it for 3 so season 2 doesn't run for 5 months.
http://us.battle.net/d3/en/forum/top...6002?page=3#55Assuming the above is still the case when patch 2.2.0 goes live (which we're aiming to do between Season 2 and Season 3), then you'll be able to find the new Set items regardless of whether you're playing a Seasonal character.
Blue post. They also said season 2 will be shorter. But Blizzard has said that about every last update > new expac in WoW since the beginning of time, so... grain of salt, etc.
Has it ever been mentioned why, with CD/resource reduction, it doesn't show on skill tooltips? Not a huge deal but it'd be neat, I think.
