Random error after Raid config screen after Boot

I have this issue that have become annoying lately where basically at random times while restarting the PC, the raid config screen would give different locations of the SSD drives and goes to Bios> receive error that there is no booting drive. it basically stop recognizing the raid 0 configuration.

the solution I use basically is reboot again for few times until the PC randomly recognize the raid 0, then I have to go on BIOS and change boot order to have "windows boot manager" first.

I use windows 8, and my raid 0 is for 2x SSD 512GBs.

anyone have any solution he might suggest? or a possible reason? thanks

My guess would be that it has something to do with it SSDs being weird and possibly not playing nice with your BIOS, but that's just a shot in the dark.

Your setup confuses me in general. What's the benefit you're trying to get from putting two SSDs in a RAID 0?

Faster speed? Larger volume? Intermittent issues are always hard to diagnose. You could try physically switching the drives order and re-RAIDing and see if that does anything different.

Did you try each drive independently before raiding?

SSDs in raid 0 are crazy fast. Like, just under 2x as fast as a single drive.

Speed gains on RAIDing SSDs are fairly marginal.

My solution would just be to never restart! Who needs to solve a problem when you can sidestep it?
Re-RAID as Atemicon mentioned may get you some results.

I assume that this is mobo RAID and not a dedicated card?

it is Mobo raid, the speed I am getting now is read 1000MB+/sec and write about 500MB/sec, it helps me with recording or streaming games especially MMOs. also with video editing software its very convenient.

if I remove raid 0, and re-order the SSD and re-raid will I lose the data?

p.s thats what i am doing now, trying not to restart as much as possible -.-

edit: I did try each drive individually, and I changed the connection cables and made sure they are connected to the sata 6 in the mobo

edit2: found a firmware update for the SSD drive from kingston , maybe that will solve the issue

I was replying to a statement about RAID 0, since there is no redundancy in a RAID 0 I didn't mention that.

If you break your raid OP yes you will lose all of your data. Has this been happening from day one RAID/Install? The only time I ever had a computer reboot and my drive not show up was when that drive was going out... but that was a spinny disc, wasn't raided and was quite old.

After firmware update, I restarted now over 20 times, it works. so its 100% a faulty firmware that got fixed, but as far as losing data, I sync important data on daily basis with gmail. gaming files usually every 1-2 month into an external hard drive. it is really not an issue once you get used to it because you back up once you go to sleep.

also since I had this new rig ( may 2012 ) never lost any data and the reduction on writing speed is still 102934209343029 times faster than HDD XD
