Phase 4 impressions / discussion thread

Got ACN to 20, made it almost up to the Ifrit fight (stopped doing the quests until the cap is removed), knocked out the WHM and FSH quests, and have been pushing through the FSH log.

I have had almost no issues playing a lot since Friday morning at 5 AM. I even left my character logged in last night and was shocked to see the server hadn't crashed once during the night. Sound effects cut out forcing a relog today, but that is the only bug I've seen.

Did they adjust dungeon difficulty? Feel like I was taking way more damage on MRD in Sastasha than I did in p3. I don't feel like there was any major gear discrepancy between my char then and now either and I was a level higher this time.

Yeah, I had that feeling on GLD too. Was getting hit for 20~25% of my HP pretty damn often, ended up adding some more points in VIT just to deal with that.

Dont know if this has been posted here yet. How the hell do you buy just one item in a stack in the market wards? I just want one! not the whole stack.

So have we lost the ability from 1.0 to buy out of a stack? Everything up for sale forces me to buy the entire stack.

This is really preventing me from buying mats to do any kind of high level crafting because I don't want to buy a stack of whatever for 100k, I just want to buy a single item for 1k...and not spend an arm and a leg for the ones that people did list individually. It's also going to selling things a real pain. I hope more people catch on to this.

Yeah, I had that feeling on GLD too. Was getting hit for 20~25% of my HP pretty damn often, ended up adding some more points in VIT just to deal with that.

Okay just did Tamtara, they definitely buffed mobs a good amount. The demon mobs were autoattacking for almost 100 thanks to Enthunder. When they did the instant TP move I'd get hit for around 85 damage + 60 auto + 30 enthunder. I suddenly have much better hopes for endgame now that the entire game isn't complete faceroll.

I hope they are just stress testing because otherwise it seems like they took a huge step backwards from Phase 3. I've been booted from the game at least 10 times since yesterday and experienced a few crashes as well.

Edit: game is back up for me, must have been one of those connection issues people are talking about. Game has been pretty smooth up to now.

I've had 0 crashes, just a couple of weird instant disconnects. I think they're doing pretty exceptional as far as OBs are concerned.

My client has been fine, but i had serious lag issues for 30min on Midgar before I lost connection entirely. LS mate txted me saying he got booted after zoning, so that explains that. Oh well, luckily it seems the game is fine otherwise, I'm ok with simple network issues in beta + week left till pre release.

I'm dreading this, the story missions account for sooooo much exp. And I'm not gaining levequests fast enough >_<. I pretty much just repeat dutyfinder for free while killing mobs so I can try and boost my exp/hr lol.
