The only untradeable fish are Sovereigns iirc. Maybe Olgoi too but that'd be it.

I think Navigator's Brand is also untradable. I don't know if it's worth pursuing for desynth if gales weather isn't up, though.

Anyone know of a decent CUL desynth fish for 85-100? I've been fishing up white two stars, but those are in the .07-.09 range of skillups. I can't imagine that lasting all the way to 100.

Silver Sovereigns are still giving me decent skillups at 89.

Managed to skip Forager's Rod entirely with melds / food / FC buff. Catching this last Olgoi was epic as hell; I think I may be one of the few to catch an Olgoi in non-Heatwave weather just due to game timing. Mooch occurred at 3:55 PM Eorzea, hook of Olgoi occurred at 4:00, weather changed to sunny / clear at 4:02, reel in completed at 4:04.

HQ Silver Sovereigns can go screw themselves by the way; I was doing them when weather isn't up. Have 2 HQ to 26 NQ right now.

Had a Lone Ripper on hook at like 3:59 in Gales and lost catch at 4:02 sunny. Wasnt sure if gathering rng or weather fuckery.

As long as you cast before weather change or time is up, it still counts. I've been mooching stuff ahead of time specially for fish that have small window like Twitchbeard/Torama for example, when window starts I cast my mooch. I've gotten 3 Twitchbeards this way so far.

I've only had liek 2 windows that I went to and didn't catch twitch. Fuck Shark Tuna though, I've only ever caught 2 of them and I go that window often.

You seem to have the worst luck with losing fish lol. You must be getting HQ bites or something, I haven't lost an Olgoi bite or Tuna in a long while. The only time I lost a twitch bite was when I had forgot to pop a quiche before setting up my mooch before window

Does the Torama fish actually desynth into anything? ff14angler has nothing recorded. I managed to catch one, desynthed it into sand. Curious if I should go back and try for more.

Exactly this, yes. So usually a few game hours is OK if you just showed up and started fishing.

The anti-bot message will proc on the actual cast though so if you're holding it for too long you will get cockblocked on the mooch. Unless they patched that. I haven't fished for more than maps since like late 2.0.

Losing catches at 383 is extra-special annoying.

Only one Lone Ripper hit during gales and I lose it.

Fuck the ripper.. I used to go with 393 gathering and lose it all the time, I got 4 bites in a back to back Gales weather once and lost them all, my food wore off then I got a 5th bite with 369 and caught it. Bitch has no logic.

My HQ/NQ SS ratio is currently 1:15 exactly right now; this is just stupid. 357 Gathering / 292 Perception.

You'd be better off getting the 3 Olgoi's and skipping the Forager's, you would be making your money back in no time with Supra rod.
