You'd be better off getting the 3 Olgoi's and skipping the Forager's, you would be making your money back in no time with Supra rod.

Managed to skip Forager's Rod entirely with melds / food / FC buff. Catching this last Olgoi was epic as hell; I think I may be one of the few to catch an Olgoi in non-Heatwave weather just due to game timing. Mooch occurred at 3:55 PM Eorzea, hook of Olgoi occurred at 4:00, weather changed to sunny / clear at 4:02, reel in completed at 4:04.

HQ Silver Sovereigns can go screw themselves by the way; I was doing them when weather isn't up. Have 2 HQ to 26 NQ right now.

I'm fishing them for the hat and CUL desynth still.

did it because i already have all the 55 accessories anyway for bot/min so why not

doing SS now and 9HQ 28 NQ now in 6 hours. i wouldnt say its that bad with full il55 equip and melds now... just dont waste time fishing them from 10am to 6pm
are any of the il75 tools worth the 2 mil gil at all to get?

The anti-bot message will proc on the actual cast though so if you're holding it for too long you will get cockblocked on the mooch. Unless they patched that. I haven't fished for more than maps since like late 2.0.

That's not necessarily the case at all anymore. IIRC, about a month ago, I was standing, *standing* in the Sawfish area and never fished (wife was there).

I logged out.

Came back the next day, started to fish, and game said "fuck yo couch".

idk about miner or botanist, but fisher is necessary if you want to catch Frilled Shark. With max melds I'm barely over the minimum using forager's and that's with the FC +10 gathering buff

These two can reach the top-tier unspoiled nodes without even using food. Because of the GP abilities, there's little point in actually improving further. Also, everything from those nodes is basically worthless. My BTN gathers everything just fine with a Forager's, and I don't even have any of the new items (belt/ear/neck/rings).

Hmm so I have a male bottom and its a lvl1 item gives me the desynth option but when I click it, it says 0% can not be desynthed. Maybe the item level is secretly higher or something.

You need to be like 85 or 90 to have 100% on it

Heavy FSH/CUL in my FC mentioned offhand last night that he estimated the iLv used in the swimsuit desynth calculation was the same as something that is i55. That fits pretty well with what's mentioned above.

Yeah I assumed that but it was just strange seeing as it is just an arbitrary requirement.

I have tried desynth'ing the South Seas Talisman with 100% with no luck on getting a cotton.. I also got like 4 or 5 different outcomes which made me conclude that's all you can get from a Talisman so unless there's a confirmation that they do drop cottons, I doubt i'll try it again. I desynth'd 14 Talisman's.

I've lost 21 bites to The Matriarch before finally catching one when I had less gathering/perc than the 1st 21. I've had same problems with Ripper where I would lose a lot of them with 393 and most of my catches were with 383. I don't know if its true or not but it seems to me having too much gathering/perception can fuck you up somehow/opens up a window to heavier fish or whatever.

HQ are almost always heavier so I try to normally keep perception low as possible when I'm not after a mooch like the Ripper.
