Just did Halatali with 2 ACN.

First of all, the CNJ let me die twice due to him "being out of range". I'm not retarded, I make sure my party is with me before I pull stuff so he was clearly an idiot. This was on trash mobs btw. We were all first timers so the mid-boss we died to once cause I didn't realize the water was killing me until it was too late.

Surprisingly we didn't die at the end boss, even though I had absolutely no clue what was going on in that fight. When his little fire circle appeared on the ground I didn't see the elementals, just the little firefly things pouring out of the wall so I went over to kill those, finally noticed the elementals and killed them. However I imagine that fight is a lot easier with a THM or two, because at the end the ACN couldn't keep up with the fireflies so I was taking really heavy damage. I had to tell them to pop limit break even though they should have done it way earlier. It's like people aren't even aware limit break exists even though I specifically assign it to people before we enter the final boss every run. I've done like 10 dungeon runs total and seen it used twice now.

All in it was a step up in difficulty and I liked that, I think had I not had two goddamn ACNs and a terrible CNJ it would have been way smoother.

CNJ was also incapable of taking Pacification off me despite me telling him 3-4 times.

You're parsing against DF SMNs and comparing them to people with relics. At least play with a good one with comparable gear before you judge.

Everyone but Yumi was DF, how is that an argument? I can only compare against the data I have to compare it with, if you're getting out damaged on a DPS class by a tank then you (and this has been 8 so far) are the worst video game player ever OR the class is lacking in some areas.

I'm not gonna say that 8 people weren't the worst video game players ever because it certainly is within FFXIV's realm of possibility, but like I said, it's the only data I have.

Because you have questionable skill levels and something like DRG can roll their face on the KB and do good damage whereas SMN easily has the highest skill ceiling of any DPS class?

Or you're just not bad at the game and have a relic. Improving Weapon DMG is the single biggest way to up your DPS, it's really dumb to judge a class by some freshly 50 SMN using whatever shitty gear they have on hand.

Just pointing out it's real silly to make out a class is bad so quickly when you haven't had an opportunity to play with one with both decent gear and who knows what the fuck he's doing. I know you've ran with DF peeps plenty so you're well aware of just how huge the difference between a bad and competent player is. I think SMN has a lot of potential in AoE situations from what I've seen so far. As far as single target goes I don't think it'll beat out DRG and MNK though.

Seems to be diff. for diff people. I get in almost everytime on Cactuar first try. On Sunday I had to try for like 10 minutes. It's really not as bad as it would seem in the general ffxiv section, ymmv.
