The game seems to give loot to the 2 shittier DPS classes a lot. We've had a lot of BRD+DRG gear as well.

Cliff notes are:

I mentioned that the difference between Sword Oath DPS geared PLD vs. Non-Defiance DPS geared WAR is negligible, even in a vacuum and explain why.

Spider-Dan comes in saying NU-UH and starts spouting off shit about MRD, something that nobody was talking about.

He then proceeds to give me some "math" that includes buffed WAR butcher's block combo but fails to include any of PLD's buffs for their combo and his defense to CoS and SW was more MRD bullshit.

He also can't seem to grasp that no matter how much DPS he brings to the table, even as MRD, that the dps the healer could be doing with a PLD, even one in full DD gear and sword oath, would be better.

With full Allagan armor pieces I could wear full STR/DPS accessories on Paladin and still outtank a Warrior without trying including in Coil. I only need ~6200HP and that's only for Twintania.

I have never out DPS'd myself Warrior vs. Paladin and the closest I've ever got was basically the difference in damage between my two weapons. The situations I've tested have been as controlled as humanly possible (Exactly 3:30m Garuda wins) where there is no addition or loss of DPS to be gained on my class because the DPS classes aren't doing as much as other runs. Even in that situation where there is no AoE tanking and I'm free to just combo I can't beat my Paladin.

So why is it that Sword Oath PLD in DD gear means SCH does not cure at all and yet WAR in DD gear somehow requires non-stop chainhealing from SCH?

The first claim was "Sword Oath PLD is about the same damage as WAR." That claim is obviously dead, so now it has stealthily morphed into "well yeah WAR does more damage but your healer doesn't have to cast cure with PLD tank and has to spam cure with WAR tank." Apparently because of the extra ~70sec of cooldowns PLD can use every 3 minutes?

If you don't need to heal a Sword Oath PLD in DD gear at all, then you aren't going to be spamming cures on a WAR, and the difference in damage output from the healer slot (between PLD tank and WAR tank) is going to be insignificant. WAR wins.

There you go Church. He's mostly talking about AK I guess because that was his main example he was saying he tanks on MRD. I said I wasn't gonna reply to him anymore so I can't break that cardinal rule of arguing on the internet but holy shit I couldn't even begin to properly articulate how retarded he is being to him anyways. Apparently me ignoring his obvious strawman arguments on PLD vs. MRD means he won the sword-oath DD PLD vs. WAR argument.

You do need to heal it though. lol.

On Garuda I don't even need Hallowed Ground, as soon as sisters start I can pop buffs until Garuda dies while my 1 healer DPS's the entire time.

Well of course you need to heal both classes at some point throughout the fights, but he's literally arguing against what I was saying which is: You need to heal PLD less than WAR, which has already been proven with straight up math in that one mitigation post. Even a PLD going full dd will require way less healing and allow the healer to dps more, which will bring more to the group than whatever paltry DPS a full DD WAR or MRD tank brings to the table.
