Beta 4 Results

Completed:
- ACN 1 -> 20
- THM 16 -> 20
- Class quests up to 20 complete for ACN, LNC, and ARC.
- Main story missions up until Mutamix teaches you about Materia.
- Created gear sets for THM, ACN, DRG and BRD. Still missing WAR, PLD and PUG.
- Sorted the shit outta my inventory when I finally logged in.


Pending:
- Figure out what Materia to convert all this cracked shit to.
- Figure out what to do with all my old gear that has cracked materia.. Is it even worth it to turn in or try to sell them?
- Finish class quests on THM, MRD, GLA, ARM and PUG.
- Start job quests (will be available next time we get to play)
- Relearn all the jobs so I can organize my cross-hotbar properly. Not that hard on ACN, PUG and THM since I'm learning those classes from leveling them... Stupid hard on all my 50s since I feel like some asshat that bought an account. I don't know what I'm doing. lol

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

I didn't get to play as much as I wanted to this weekend due to working a full day on Friday, getting onto Gilgamesh late that night, and having the gf's birthday on Saturday. Needless to say, I got RL'd hard, but I did get LNC to 16, got the main story right up to the point of the first dungeon, toyed around with botanist and fishing, unlocked all classes except for weaver (idk how i missed this), and logged out at an inn for the rested bonus. Hopefully I'll get to play more next weekend.

Gilgamesh character creation was down so if there aren't early access server transfers I'm going to need to restart, but got ACN to 20 and messed around with all the other classes a little. If I do need to restart I think it'll go a lot faster now that I know where everything is (and I can focus on one class at a time barring picking them all up while in the other cities anyway).

Got Arcanist and THM to 15+ then I discoverd when leveling a DoW class my character was making a wierd noises I didn't like nearly everytime he used a weapon skill. So I just deleted him lol but couldn't remake him on the same server.
So I just made an archer on what ever server happened to be available and bumrushed through the main story doing the first 3 dungeons and ifrit, found copperbell mines to be tons of fun due to spending ages on the blob boss due to not understanding how it worked at first but when we did it was super easy despite the tank dieing at one point to bomb blast, last boss was pretty chaotic after the 2nd wall ended up getting broken and at one point stopped caring about all the adds everywhere and just focused on bringing the boss down asap.
Then I deleted that character before I went to bed and the beta was supposed to end since I was never really gona play him again.

So in otherwords I achieved nothing but I had fun anyway.

In response to your cracked gear question, how many points worth do you have? It only takes a few double melds to get a darklight body. I have a strong feeling that DL is going to be incredibly easy to get from dungeons though so it's not a big deal if you don't have the points for any of it.

If you have enough though, free DL is nice!

I think this is just due to most DoTs dealing a little bit of direct damage on cast. I think ACNs Bio/Bio 2 don't do any direct damage and I assume spreading them (+Miasma) with Bane at 30 won't either. If that's the case you may be able to apply them on sleeping mobs just fine. Something to try out/keep in mind for future.

It is due to the initial damage, yes. Learned it playing THM in Phase 3.

I thought Bio had an initial potency...? Guess it doesn't. That is the only DoT without an initial potency though that I can find. It would take a really long time to DoT something to death only using Bio. Better off doing Miasma for heavy then reapplying DoTs and sleep.

I guess the next question would be is if spreading the DoTs with Bane will wake slept enemies.

• PGL, MRD, CNJ, LNC and ARC all high enough to get me abilities I wanted, don't really care about anything else w/ combat classes

• WVR & GSM 20
• LTW & BSM 16, didn't have time to get to 20
• ALC 15
• CRP, CUL & ARM 10

• MIN 19.9
• BTN 8
• Farmed a shitload of Lv.15+ materials & shards for misc crafts
• Stocked up on T1 materia
• Made a full HQ set of cotton gear and some HQ jewelry

• Joined a bunch of crafting linkshells
• Favorited one Aetheryte in each starting region with HP in Ul'dah for cheap teleports everywhere
• Story till just before Ifrit
• Unlocked but never ended up running Halatali
• Didn't get to run more dungeons for gear, crafting was more important

A few loose ends here and there but otherwise made way more progress overall than I expected. Only downside is all that crafting pretty much ran through all my gil and leve allowances. Gonna have to spend some time on AH making that back come early access.

3102 murdering me took a ton of time out, but some late night playing got me to 15 ACR with enough time to do my 15 Class quest and the story quests which net me airship access. notbad.jpg

Got hit by 3102 during 36 hours, but I managed to do what I wanted on my Legacy character ACN20 and BOT19 (wanted 20 but not enough time today). Yesterday while under 3102, I made another char and also got it to ACN20.

Got a decent amount of stuff done, 20 archer, 20 fishing, 12 botany, and 12 carpentry. Fishing is like the most mundane activity ever and yet strangely addicting. I live for catching HQ fish.

I only ever had GLD tanks so keeping mobs slept was easy, except for that one DD who didn't know to attack the tank's mob.

Wait you were actively CCing mobs in the first 3 dunegons? I just ran around and spammed Overpower on MRD during beta 3 through all the dungeons.

Lost a lot of time due to my internet going down frequently this weekend, but managed to at least get:

• 20ACN
• All ACN class quests
• Main Story Line up to Ifrit
• Attuned myself to all aetheryte camps and aethernets

and got hit by a quest bug, which didn't allow me to finish the Lv. 1 GSM quest.

Also, I somehow managed to avoid the 3102 error that seemed to have hit a lot of people.

I have a few not that many. Gloves, belt, body piece, shield (I think). Hmm DL gear sounds good. Is it still best in slot?
