Just 29 more hours and we'll be playing ARR!!! YARRR!!!
Since I don't feel like being the one to start a new random discussion thread, here's some photos of the ARR CE. I believe they should be arriving starting today/tomorrow.

Mine still hasn't shipped according to Digital River. Bleh.
Apparently a copy I paid for on a since cancelled card just arrived in IN.
If that really arrives, lol. If it has a shipped status and is out and about, chances are I'm about to get a free copy? Or is USPS shitting the bed.
Either way, I'm supposed to have a copy from Amazon coming. Not sure wutdo.
i dunno if theres a FAQ page going on.. but if im legacy and didnt pre-order, i don't need to do anything do i?
I am probably going to break down and buy a CE off of Ebay :/ sorta gay (like 160$ gay) but whatever.
I went to Gamestop today, to see what their deal was (if they would get any in as like regular stock) and was meet with the bad news... however
I did get two of these (sorry for shit picture it's late didn't feel like hooking up my phone and shit)
Their cloth gamestop adverts i guess? dude game me one after i asked about XIV, and i'm thanking him and folding it up, and he's like hold up i'll get you a un opened one, and i'm like "can i get them both?" and he's like "meh...yeah why not"
pretty cool i though
edit:
And this convaluted mess has me all flusterpated...
I have a legacy 1.0 Collectors edition account. I just purchased another PC digital download CE (for the wifes account). Will both accounts have all the schwag? the wife was excite about the "purple pig" (she has never played an MMO)
Has anybody also entered a collectors edition code...and it doesn't say that it is specifically "ffxiv AAR:CE?" mine says its a regular version..
Or better yet nothing specific about the collectors edition
So uh, I'm sure we all know about the patches available today along with the user agreement(s). Question.
When I go to apply the pre-order bonus to my account, it has the wrong character listed (one I farted around with on a JP server while 3102'd). The one I want to have the Mog Cap is on another server.
So if I redeem it will it be an XI-type deal where any character on the account can get it? Or is it a one-time thing?
Edit: After selecting existing account, it also says "If you select an existing service account, please confirm the characters and options available before continuing."
Probably another fall-through-the-cracks situation/trap that Square can't seem to stop slipping up on. I swear to god they've got monkeys doing their programming/pre-launch prep. lol
Early access codes are not the game product code and have nothing to do with CE or not.Has anybody also entered a collectors edition code...and it doesn't say that it is specifically "ffxiv AAR:CE?" mine says its a regular version..
Or better yet nothing specific about the collectors edition
All characters get the items, you're good.
For PS3, all you need is to register your EA code, and download the Game from PSN store.
(Note: PS3 users DO NOT need any further code from here onwards)
Once you have done installation, and when you click on the game.
either situation for you:
1) if you have played Beta Phase 4 and linked your Square Enix Management Account. Then you are granted with Early Access with the linked account. It is automatic. It will ask you want to use Beta 4 services, which is carry forward your Beta Phase 4 progression.
2) if you haven't played Beta Phase 4 or haven't linked SE Management Account, then you need to link one, and follow step by step...
For PC, you will register EA code and obtain another game code (20 alphabet).
On the same page EA website, have a link for you to register this game code to link you Beta Phase 4 account, to carry forward your game progression.
Hope this clear/ help for people who are still confused and or worried with the mess-up linking accounts.
ok, so I bought the game straight from SE a couple of days ago, do I still need to add some code somewhere, or is that already taken care of? game comes up as registered under my profile
In the Customer Support email I got yesterday, they said that they've stopped giving out the Step1 18-digit codes, and are just going to send people the 20-digit code directly.
Of course, bear in mind that is NOT what happened to me when I RE-ordered the game just the other day. I WAS given the 18-digit code (which worked fine by the time I got around to putting it in). Also remember that this is SE Customer Service we're talking about, and they are well known for giving outdated or flat-out wrong information at times (probably not the agent's fault... that place seems to be a cluster-fuck of non-communication). For what it's worth, I STILL haven't gotten my code for my FIRST pre-order, nor has my card been charged for it yet (though I WAS charged for my 2nd order, which was CE).Dear Customer,
Thank you for contacting our customer service.
We're sorry to inform you that pre-order bonus codes due to be sent out on 20th and 21st August to customers who pre-ordered the game on the Square Enix Store are still being sent and we hope to have these with you in the next 24 to 36 hours.
Please be aware that Square Enix Store customers (excluding Square Enix Boutique customers) will not receive the 18-digit pre-order code as this code is only redeemed in order to receive the 20-digit early access code. The 20-digit early access code is currently being sent directly to Square Enix Store customers, who need only redeem it on (https://secure.square-enix.com/accou...arlypre?rgn=en) in order to receive their early access and pre-order bonus items. No other steps are required.
We deeply apologise for the delay and thank you for your understanding.
Kind regards,
The Square Enix Support Centre Team
It should have done so when you went to add the preorder items to your account after starting the game and selecting "I currently possess a Square Enix account."
The flow I experienced being:
Start game
Select I currently own a Square Enix account
Log in
Linking process takes place
Code registration takes place
Update
