Redeeming pre-order code

Mine went through second try (thanks tancients <3), no email for item code but it popped up on screen with instructions. I input that new longer code just fine on the site they linked and it popped up confirming both items and gave a link to DL the game.

So the site gave you a pop up window, with your code? I saw no such thing, or add block notification, when I did it on the http://preorder.na.finalfantasyxiv.com/ site.

I just purchased the digital copy today from the SE estore. It gave instructions to download the game but the only download I could find was for a pdf with minimal instructions about the preorder bonuses.
Where or when can I download the game, is it only when early access starts? I did play p4 of the beta, will that download work as the game?

When you enter your preorder code to the site and get the subsequent 20-digit code you will get a download link.

Yes, Phase 4 client is the final one so you can play using that one. All you need to do is link the codes to your SE account and you're good to go.
