My wife hated Sims 3 but forced me to build her a new PC for Sims 4 as her laptop couldn't play it. She's pretty pissed about EA removing shit but really wants this game to be good or at least close to Sims 2.

Hey!! if she's playing her game... I can play mines in peace... Happy wife = happy life![]()
I feel like Sims 4 is going to be a success no matter how much content is missing lol...
Of course it is.
Let's be real in that a huge portion of sims players aren't gamers. They probably have zero knowledge of what happened with simcity. They won't know there are no pools until after they buy the game. And even then, they may complain but will buy the water expansion the first day it comes out.
This is the world we live in. AAA developers have figured out how to make money off of women in gaming. Or, at least, EA has.
However, because the bar is so low and the competition so thin outside of the mobile space, they've also figured out they don't have to work that hard improving that experience once they're hooked on your franchise. Can you really tell one 'hidden object' game from the next twenty? Do you realize how much goddamn money they make anyway? Try as I might, I can't stay mad forever about it.
Splash Expansion - Pools, Hot tubs, New Bathtubs and Showers, Fountains and Beach supplies. Now with 100% more water.
They're going to break up the Seasons into 4 expansions. Water will be included in The Sims 4 Summertime Fun Pack!
Pools!
Beaches!
New beach showers!
Hot tubs!
It honestly would not surprise me if SE did something like a mix between Sims and SimCity.
Have you select, say, Willow Creek, and choose one of the five neighborhoods in the world. Other players can then choose one of the other four neighborhoods within Willow Creek, and build there. Your Sims can then interact with each other. Wouldn't surprise me if this is why they disabled Story Mode, since the other neighborhoods are essentially "frozen" unless someone is currently playing inside of it.
What other reason is there to limit the amount of lots within the neighborhood to five (whereas all of the other games had many, many more lots), disable story mode, have a loading screen between your neighborhood houses and community lots (the sixth neighborhood in the world), and a work system like in Sims 2?
My only hope is that the above will surely not happen as they have not yet stated anything about it. Right? Right.

Now available for Pre-Loadhttp://www.vg247.com/2014/08/30/you-...ad-the-sims-4/EA and Maxis have made the game files of The Sims 4 available for you to download, if you’ve pre-purchased the game.
By pre-loading, you can download all the game files and have them ready to play as soon as the game launches in your region. You will need to launch Origin and head to your Game Library, it should show a download button if the pre-load is available in your region.
I'm going to do my best to find the link I saw earlier, but I'll surmise what I read: Essentially The Sims 4 has been in development for 4 years as an online-only title, but last year, following the Sim City fiasco, upper management came down on Maxis and essentially switched gears to an offline-only title, which screwed up a lot of the work. What we're seeing here is roughly 1 year's worth of work and a lot of back-peddling, which makes sense when I start thinking about the staggering amount of shit that the game simply lacks. The small size, the small plots, lack of create-a-style, the rabbit-hole workplaces again - lets skip the elephant in the room regarding toddlers and pools. Again, I'll try and find the link.
As someone who suffered through that Sim City mess, I believe this 100%. It makes a lot of sense as to why this game seems so barren aside from this trumped-up emotion matrix stuff.
I'll be skipping this for a long time, but I will keep an eye out on the responses to the game. I wouldn't mind another fiasco like Sim City, because it seems like EA just never learns their lesson. Like a Saturday Morning cartoon villain, they'll keep trying to get one over until people call them out and prove their shenanigans.
Is it really that hard to turn off the always online?
