FFXI had a few dailies (or were they weeklies? anyway...), but since they were mainly used for exp purposes (main reward was Miratete's Memoirs), I never heard anyone complain about them. If FFXIV's dailies are just used as an alternate source of exp, surely they won't be a bad thing... unless I'm missing something? In fact, they could even make the game feel more alive, if the quests aren't the exact same thing every single day.
