Can't find the source because finding information and quotes for this game is the worst, but dailies were mentioned in a recent interview/live letter and they are supposed to be endgame-oriented. I imagine Yoshida sees guildleves as the daily exp system, so it should not be too surprising.
I'll dig for a little longer and edit if I can find it.
I feel like I'm missing something here.
If "Dailies" are just repeatable quests why the hell would we need them when that's exactly what the leve system is?
Fuck dailies. It's like the nightmare that was Assaults for Salvage access. How many god damn times do I have to kill Lamia 13?!
Yoshi-P has been on a roll with good things, I hope he does this in an enjoyable way.
Are the supplies/provisions that GCs ask for considered dailies? If they do, then I don't see what the fuss is all about.
Oh no! Not more content options to do when we log on! Anything but that! There's already Leves, why do they dare force additional quest options into the game.
It doesn't matter how many content options there are when the new options are shit. The problem is for people is that dailies are generally associated with monotonous content. If it is executed well then there is no call for concern. If it isn't then the time could be spent on another resource....
Because sometimes they aren't up constantly. A daily system that purely rewards a chunk of XP comparable to a fate provides a good alternative when there are no fates up and running. I could see people not wanting XP-only Dailies if fates were 100% guaranteed to be up and running all the time, but that's not how it works. I've had plenty of times where upwards of 10-15 minutes were spent looking for a FATE in a zone unsuccessfully. That's not even including wanting to do FATEs at your exact level range to get maximum xp.
Dailies that reward tokens for gear/loot that otherwise remains exclusive? Shit.
Dailies that force completion by offering gear that serves to ready you for content? Shit.
Dailies that offer so much gold that you feel required to do them each day or fall behind on the economic curve? Shit.
Dailies that purely offer chunks of EXP to help supplement leveling secondary or tertiary classes for when FATEs aren't popping or simply for a change of pace? Bring em on.
Yeah, I would greatly prefer dailies as a supplement for EXP (basically what Lucavi said.)
However, if they do use the daily system for gear, or random fun stuff, I hope they do it like the levequest system. That way, if you're a bitch like myself and have to miss a day, or just don't feel like it, you can bust them out whenever you DO feel like it.

Granted that post is from April and things may have changed, I have not seen anything that indicates a change in stance on the removal of seals from FATEs.
