New video is pretty wicked. I don't really mind the reuse of the older FFXI models. Gives that touch of nostalgia while still mixing in enough new mobs to keep things fresh
The level design reeks of FFXII and I am diggin' this stonk.
I mean, even the stone giant things from like 1 dungeon in FFXI makes it in as a boss. Then bam, Oh Shit! Omega lego my ego.
I'm liking the dungeons too. I have no problem with other FF mobs showing up. I'm playing a FF game, I want them to show up. I like how dungeons have seem to have different mobs, surprise pops, and mechanics. It's a nice way to teach players skills throughout the game, instead of dumping everything on them at Lv.50. I want to fight Tonberry Kinq.
The Castrum Dungeons look especially coo-coo-kachew.
Garlean internal areas remind me of The Tower of Babel and the Tower of Zot from FFIV with the constant pulsing colored lights. All I need now are some flamehounds and flame soldiers and I'm good.
Did they say whether Ishgard would be open at launch? I talked to the npc but assumed we were locked out due to P4. I'm guessing there's a few other areas they locked us out of as well. Also hoping they allow us to download the patch more than just one day before EA.
I wouldn't be surprised if that was one of the final story dungeons. Also wouldn't be surprised if we get magitek/magitek barding from there either. I really hope the story doesn't take years to come to conclusion.

I wasn't saying that I object to the reuse of existing XI (and XII, really) mobs. I'm all for it, as long as they continue to create new ones. I think the implementation of crabs and diremites were much better in 1.0 than in XI, and certain mobs (I'm looking at you, Shadow Dragon) could have used a serious refresh.
I thought CC was one of the best looking dungeons from that video. I'm a little sad at how it seems to be level40~ now (it's looking like the dungeons are listed in ascending levels like in the first vid).

Besides, CC looks like it's largely exposed to sky now, whereas before it was entirely underground (like Kuftal).
Those dungeons look amazing. Kinda glad I only played enough in 1.0 to do the early one in the black shroud with 3 diremite bosses, whichever one that was. The beginning of the wanderer's palace looked like temple ugalehpi motif with sky architecture.
So from that video can we assume that The Praetorium is inside Castrum Miridianum?
