From what I hear, its a RNG buff also.. so you may get 1 good out of it or like 4-5... rng with your rng buffs!

But yeah, buyin the NQ version of it is just plain retarded. And I dont think you can even desynth those yet, even if you were to meet the skill lvl required for it, you´d prolly end up with a 20% chance to succeed.

I always refer to my main hand tools as weapons lmao. Maybe because I try to auto attack mobs with it sometimes

As best I can figure Chysahl Greens and Stuffed Chysahl are the cheapest recipe/gather you can guarantee will come up every week. Just get enough synths for 30 (gather up 57), make them up before the week starts, stick them on a retainer and wait for the day to pop.

Not really a fun system though.

One of my favorite parts of specialist crafting is that whistles track how crappy your RNG is for you. When I'm sitting on 10 whistles and it's turn 30, I just reclaim that nonsense and start over.

How do you gather grade 5 carbonized matter? I read that it's a random hidden on the yellow/green quartz node in C.Mists but I've revealed about a dozen times there and got nothing.

On regular Lv60 nodes (maybe lv55 ones too? not the unspoiled ones, I mean, it could, but I've never tried), it has a very very low chance to spawn. Also, it can be revealed via that stupid "HQ chain 2" (3 consecutive HQs) ability; standard nodes only have 4 swings, so this is rarely useful.

So far, I've seen it spawn on the Hardsilver Sand nodes twice (where I took the following picture), and once in the Forelands, but I don't recall what I was gathering at the time (pretty sure it was the Lv55 Dark Chestnut nodes, but I can't be sure).


Your best best for finding it is to use a lv60 node that doesn't also spawn other hidden items (like hardsilver ore). I don't actually know if the other hidden items prevent it from showing up, but I've never seen them both up at once. Hardsilver Sand nodes are probably your best bet, since hardsilver is actually useful, as opposed to... well... anything from a non-birch lv60 botany node.

All that said, unless the price has gone up from what it was a month ago (under 1k), you're far better off just buying it. If you are looking to buy, I have some.

Yeah its super rare, Ive seen it on other lvl60 nodes as well, but not too often and Ive been gathering 11+x2 weekly for shitty favors.

All that said, unless the price has gone up from what it was a month ago (under 1k), you're far better off just buying it. If you are looking to buy, I have some.

Yeah, I entered 2.0 with two full stacks of the stuff, so I know what you mean. Sold them at a trickle to idiots that didn't understand materia for 10k a pop until SE shat on my market by introducing the crystal tower 3x G5 matter quest reward for no reason.

If that is the case, my suggestion changes. I would hit nodes until you find one with a +30% HQ rate**, bump it up another 30% with the ability (15+30+30=75% HQ rate), get 3x HQs in a row, pop the [HQ chain 2] ability and gather the carbo matter that way. That's probably your fastest option.

**Is there any reason why these more advanced bonuses don't SHOW UP above the node until you actually open them for gathering? Annoying as fuck.

A) If people are bitching about having to cap it once a week, what in the sweet jesus fuck makes you think they would be willing to do it twice to get ahead AND lose 30 inventory space?
