It's been over 2 months since favors were released along with red crafting and gathering scrips. Are people still doing their weekly?
The last time I did them was probably a month ago and I've noticed that prices for 2-star crafting gear is still through the roof and the availability of certain items for mat turn-ins are still extremely low on my server. I thought about crafting an offhand earlier today, but after looking into it I once again realized that it wasn't really worth it.
Still doing mine. More focused on leveling than gearing all classes for omni crafting. Once jobs start to finish up I'll be focusing more on crafting again.
I'm stockpiling waiting to see what happens in 3.1 personally. You don't _need_ any of it yet, and grade 5 doh/dol materia doesn't exactly grow on trees. There's little actual use for gil, so the motivation to actually do something with them beyond stockpiling "just in case" is pretty low :/
Could anyone tell me where the NPC is you turn in the "Soul of the Crafter" items is? When I first did the quest I held off turning them in until I was completely decided one what to use them on, now I can't remember where that NPC was in Foundation.
EDIT: Never mind, I found him thanks to Libra Eorzea.

So... anyone have a macro for HQing non-master 70dura synths yet?

Havent used it lately, think this is 98% Quaiity off all NQ materials and no Good procs consumed for Precise, so basically you end up with 7 or 8 IQ stacks for Byregots.
Man, SE really needs to increase the number of slots you have for cross-classing on DoH jobs. 10 slots isn't enough any more. :/
You're presuming that cross-classing is an intended focus of this game, instead of a grudging port of a 1.0 feature brought over to pacify legacy players.
I wouldn't be so quick to blame legacy players for the cross classing debacle. SE redesigned the game and they could have easily gotten rid of cross classing entirely while not screwing over legacy players with everything at 50.
I don't know that blame is the correct word to use. Cross-classing is/was the best thing about XIV, as a concept.
Yoshida seems intent on minimizing/eliminating cross-classing as the game progresses. Notice how you only get one new cross-classable action from 51-60 and they are all mostly redundant.
Not all of them... Muscle Memory is the best thing sinced bread it blows Piece by Piece away under most situations I've encountered so far. It's just atm, on ARM, I can't fit Muscle Memory into the 10 slots if it's needed because all the other 10 are actually abilites I use normally in pretty much every synth. So I'm forced to use Steady Hand 1 > Piece by Piece on ARM if the synth calls for that type of ability, instead of just using Muscle Memory.
Piece by Piece is fully obsoleted by Name of element; even ARM shouldn't use Piece by Piece anymore.
In fact, the net result of 3.0 for everyone but GSM and CUL (and ARM, I guess) is that they actually get an extra cross-class slot back, since they can drop PbP and use native Name+Brand instead.
Your words made it seem as if they brought over cross classing to appease legacy players as if they'd throw a stink if it went missing.
Regardless, I agree that cross classing was a good concept but it's current implementation is just outright silly to the point that it shouldn't exist, especially for DoH. There isn't even any gameplay variance between DoH.
Holy Fucking Scorsese.... I neglected using Name of Element all this time because I thought was only used on aspected synths like the older version... I can now 2-3 shot anything 60 or below.... maybe higher.... already mathed out the CP, and I can go back to using my old 6 Touch rotation on any 70/80 DUR synth 60 or below with that... fuck you Hasty Touch!!!
Thank you.
Thank you.
Thank you.
This is sick... I 2-shot a LVL. 59 recipe at LVL. 59....
Name+Brand have been quite useful on all the 60* synths I've done.
