What is exact description of WN II? I never use WN I because I've yet to ever need it in 16 HQ 2* synths.

Waste Not II seems horribly inefficient to me. You'd have to have horrible luck with goods for it to end up being only slightly better than Master's Mend.
WN2 is really not very good. It's only more CP efficient than the durability-restoring actions if you do (at least) seven durability-consuming actions in an eight-turn window, and I can't think of many scenarios where that would be a good idea.
^
It's efficiency is defeated when you're using TotT during good procs and reapplying Steady Hand, ultimately making it less efficient.
Is there anyway to execute 1 macro in another macro?
With Waste Not on 70-80 dura synths I've been doing SH+Hasty with TotT if it procs for the first 4-5 turns then switching over to WN (Manip -> SH -> WN) only because by then the quality gains on good should be sufficient to not need Tricks. I'm still a little up in the air about using WN at all but that method has done well for me so far. The only bad times are just bad runs of hasty or no good condition procs.
The CP cost of WN with the prospect of a bad run of no goods is what will probably always keep me from using WN. With good TotT I can always use MM2 no matter what and sometimes another MM1 if I need it due to shitty hasties and still have enough to pop GS -> Byrgeot.
Honestly, most of the time after I'm back down to 20 dura after MM2 an unstacked Byrgeot will put me at 100% on a 2 star if using HQ materials.
So is it safe to say that for 80 synths for the most part everyone is IQ >> SH >> WN >> HTx4 >> SH >> WN >> HTx4 >> HT >> SH >> WN >> HT till 100% finish craft?
I used to use Waste Not, but it ended up being generally inefficient as some others have said. My typical approach right now is:
40 Durability: IQ > SH2 > { HT/TotT to 20 > Manipulation > HT/TotT/SH2 to critical quality } > GS > BB > BS/SS to finish.
80 Durability: Pretty much the same as above, except I will pop Manipulation anywhere between 30 and 50 durability depending when SH2 wears off.
If I had Comfort Zone, I would put that at the front of the queue, and I'd use Careful Synthesis II for progress if I had that (11 levels to go!). For */** synths, judicious use of Ingenuity/Ingenuity II (generally at the end for GS > BB > progress) is the way to go.
I use WN1 exactly once on non-* synths (where I would use Ingenuity instead). Your first WN1 is essentially guaranteed to get full efficiency if you consume durability on 3 of 4 turns; if I can reverse jinx the game into giving me two Goods during one WN, I will take that all day. That means I got 10 extra durability for 16 CP (26 CP if you count SH2), which is better CP efficiency than anything else.
Quick question.
Someone once mentioned to me one way was superior and I really don't feel like testing it myself or doing any math right now...
Which way is superior for turning in 3 HQs and 6 NQs for a triple-turn-in equipment leve?
H/N/N + H/N/N + H/N/N
or
H/H/H/ + N/N/N/ + N/N/N
I would have an idea if I remember what the exact bonus %s were per each HQ included. I have a faint recollection of +60& > +120% > +200%...
Currently leveling carpenter
I'm doing
Comfort Zone > Inner Quiet > GS > SH > Innovation > Standard Touch > GS > ST> GS > ST > Rumination > ST > Careful Synthesis II
I'm thinking I should level CUL at least 15 but where does Steady Hand 2 come from?
Not in game so if I already have it...how embarassing
37 CUL
Personally, I'm a fan of
40 Dura: SH2>HT>Manipulation>HTX3>Manipulation>SH2>HTX3>Adv anced Touch>GS>SH>Ingenuity>BB>Standard Synth. Shouldn't have problem with CP food pushing you >370, but I've found that around 7 successful touches are what you want to 100%.
80 Dura: Pretty Basic SH2>HT to 20>MMII (eating Goods with TotT)>SH2>HT and then GS>SH>Ingenuity>BB>Standard Synth x2 once I land 8 Touches to be sure. Easy and shouldn't be a problem unless you miss >5 touches/got real unlucky with Goods and ran out of CP for an emergency mend/touch rotation.
So earlier I had Manipulation up with 10 durability left and I used Basic Touch and failed, and it broke the synth. Is this a bug or is this how it's supposed to work?
