That spreadsheet is really helpful.

Main thing would to know with both how many CS it takes to finish the synth with your craftsmanship, or even maybe 2 CS under Ingenuity and one not if that works. Then you also need to generally know how much CP you need to finish off they end of a synth (steady hand, great strides, ingenuity, Byregots) so you will know which ingenuity you can use.
Is the bonus for being over the synth level to progress or quality? I remember someone figuring that out but I can't remember which it was.
ie. Is the benefit from Ingenuity II over Ingenuity I only more quality or more progress.
Only more progress.
The penalty for control is much lower than progress, in any case.
Still working on my first craft to 50, since I'm lazy, busy, etc etc excuses, but I'm wondering if I should get Weaver to 50 first just for CSII, or actually finish my BSM since it's 45. Got all crafts to 15 for cross class stuff.
HQ hands in getting the nerf. Expected, glad I got most of the relevant crafts out the way.
I think it's fairly obvious that the ridiculous exp rewards from leves were to help the non-legacy servers get caught up quickly and get their crafting economy rolling.
I only got 4 done, makes me /sadface.
So glad I got everything to 50 before 2.1 after they announced that change. I was worried something may get nerfed with how easy it was to level with leves.
Can anyone recommend a rotation for 100% 2 star w/o Comfort zone? 50 WVR,GSM,CRP,BSM,LTW,CUL and 35 ALC, 20 ARM
341CP w/o Food
344 Control
347 Craftsmanship
Or would I even need it if I were to use the +34CP Food?
Does the conspicuous absence of CUL mean that you do not have Steady Hand II or Hasty Hand...?
Nope, simply forgot to add CUL to the lvl 50 list. It's been added.
I just checked one of the "100% HQ 2**" links in my history and the guy is making macros with a bunch of Hasty Touches.
Excuse me for potential stupidity, but how is that "100%" when you can have stupid shit like Hasty failing 4 times in a row? Or was that guy misinformed in his macro making?
I do it the Hasty Touch way and I've never had enough fails to not hit 100%, but there's always the chance, however miniscule, that you'll fail enough times that it won't make it. To account for that possibility, I equip Reclaim, but I've never had to use it. People that use the Hasty Touch method are using "100%" to mean "this will get you to 100% HQ easily" rather than "this will get you HQ 100% of the time".
I don't really have a rotation to offer, since I fly by the seat of my pants. My suggestion would be to grab some Prickly Pineapples and practice on Pineapple Juice (or w/e 2-star food of your choice that doesn't eat philo mats). I don't remember how much Durability that Pineapple Juice has, but that's how I practiced my rotation before starting 2-star things.
I think it's pretty crazy for someone to be writing up macros for 2-star synths though, since you wouldn't be able to react to Good/Excellent, but if it works for them, more power to 'em, I guess.
I've only been RNG-fucked by Hasty Touch once so far (out of maybe 10ish end-result pieces) with bare minimum gear for 2*. Funny story, I blew that synth up (without Reclaim up; overestimated Byregot's) but the mats went back into my bag. I didn't notice so I bought more since this was a synth for someone else.
Pretty sure this is what you're looking for

Yeah, I can only remember one time where hasty blew up crafting something meaningful enough to ruin the craft, (a carpenter's gown, of all things. So much fleece down the drain) so I still go through the process to HQ all the mats when doing **s. It takes a bunch longer, but that's the price for peace of mind.
http://www.garytay.net/ffxiv-craftin...crafting-gear/ is the link that came up, he chooses 2 different macros depending on if excellent comes up, but only right at the end.
