Edit: obligatory disclaimer that I am no where near an expert in crafting.

Ingenuity I is the same as II when you are doing touches. Ingenuity II is superior on synthesis.
Factor in the difference in CP and the # of touches it takes you to complete a synth and you'll be able to choose which one to use.

For example, if you're in a fresh level 50 crafter and ingenuity II doesn't one-shot with careful synthesis, then you could be using ingenuity I instead for your byregots>CSII>CSII.

But once you're max everything, you may not even have the space to equip ingenuity I let alone find time to use it

IG2 will also give more quality on Touches (due to reduced level penalty). Still, early on in a synth (when you are mostly just collecting IQ stacks), I suppose IG1 would be more CP-efficient than IG2.

Personally, I wouldn't really bother using either before I get to 5 IQ stacks or so.

http://xivsim.x0.com/ says that IG and IG2 give the same amount of quality per touch.

    Unless im missing something?

Edit: Searching this thread shows more people saying the quality gain from touches is the same.

IG and IG2 no longer lower the level of the craft to [your level] and [below your level]. They now lower the level of the craft itself by [a little bit] and [a lotta bit]. Therefore, when used on recipes above level 50, you will gain a boost to quality.

Just wondering, has anybody done any more new math since the earlier crafting formula was done?

That they're taking down both the lodestone and the libra eorzea app on patch day seems to suggest that they will be adding new items, probably vol 2 of the master recipe books.

I doubt 2.25 adds any new crafting recipes. The reason they are taking it down is probably because they have to add in the new stages of the relic weapons.

I'd like to think they didn't release i90 crafted accessories yet because they had to take time to re-balance them in terms of melding, and they would be released later on with adjustments.

I'm not holding my breath tho.

This is what I was thinking as well, because everyone will end up melding vit to accessories.

That's the point tho lol. They won't be top DPs but they give plds a lot to work with. I love me some melds.I mean as a goldsmither we have two things to craft with master melds lol. Is it that bad with other crafts?

Maybe its just a way to screw with us due to the high demand from other 2 star items.

VIT on non-tank classes is a lot more significant in terms of usefulness and balance issues than STR on tank classes.

Its one of the few ways to keep vit up and add to block and parry rate. But yes vit on mages is a godsend.

Our sch spent a lit for t5 just to get HP up.

Think of it like this. The way that the accessories were balanced at i70 was that you pretty much had what amounts to a i70 darklight tank accessory + an i70 darklight DPS accessory's worth of main stats. If they released them at i90, you'd have DPS with 65 extra vit. Maybe mages would have a little less, since their gear capped a little lower on vit than MNK/DRG/BRD.

Two control won't make any difference at two star, 3 no idea. Huge? Most likely not

Apparently savage might II qualifies as "high-grade" for the achievement.

Anyone have a 100% HQ button for 40 dura stuff? rose gold nugget, twinthread, etc. Best I can do is 83%. I have i70 stuff and been trying some rotations, but can't get any better.

This isn't 100%, but it is really reliable. When I did my nuggets for GSM, I hq'd 110 nuggets and NQ 8 this way. 359 craftsmanship, 354 control, 388 CP:

    CZ > IQ > SH2 > WN > HT x5 > Manipulation > SH2 > WN > HT x4 > SH > GS > Inq2 > Inn > BB > CS2
