Oh, yes. Thought that was kind of common knowledge. If you leveled any Desynth above 1.00 it'll occasionally go down as you level another. I've never seen it go down by more than 0.01 though.

I've not actually kept track of my skill points. I just spam desynth whatever I have available/feel like doing at the moment. Interesting system.

Yeah, I was trying to CUL/ALC at the same time and while I still ended up with a net gain I'd say something like 1 out 5 synths reduced a skill by 0.01

The skill gained vs item level doesn't seem to scale in any consistent way.

hah, right up there with you 81 blacksmithing, and there is nothing i90 to desynth.. at least if your any other job you can desynth i90 stuffs

there are sweet spots based on your crafting level and the level of the item. I don't know the exact level range, but its easy to imagine that crafting items at <65% success rates (high level items) gives less exp that items in the 75%-85% range (items up to 15 levels below you?) once you go too far, even at the 95% success range, exp earned drops as the item's level is too low (more than 15 levels below the item?).

Of course, the curve may change from 1-30,30-50,50-70, 70-100.

When you manage to get one, make sure you desynth it right there in the dungeon in front of everyone.

Do you have the mastercraft unique item for completing 250+ unique synths? Just wondering because Mastercraft Demimateria says that it comes from an "exceptionally" skilled maker, and I am curious what designates someone as "Exceptionally" skilled.

You can desynth on any job just like repairs.

It just comes from desynthing specific items. Your gear doesn't matter. If you mean desynthing the rings themselves, they just count as i55 crafting gear and would yield fieldcraft II's at best. (if desynthable at all)

That made me wonder if you could desynth anything that you can buy for cheap from a Calamity Salvager, but the lodestone shows that everything is flagged (that I've checked) with Desynth: No.

ok, i'm 85 now in blacksmithing.. i've been desynthing.... Summoning Bells! yup, craft yourself a ton of summing bells they are i90 items.

Also, mastercraft demimateria comes from desynthing high level crafter gear, for example I got mine from desything my Artisian frying pan i got from the dude in Mor Dhona. another goldsmith got their from desynthing their artisan neck. and from what I hear it's not 100%

I believe that weavers and need to desynth the DOL hat gotten from that same guy.
