Just curious, has anyone figured out the materia stat caps on the new crafting and gathering gear?
*EDIT* - Nvm, found this link. Dunno how accurate it is, though.
So for people that have multiple/all DoH jobs levelled, what jobs are you gonna level desynthesis on? Is there some preferred ones over others, or is it just do whatever you feel like?
The 3 main things of desynth class choice seem to be
1) Can I get Mastercraft demi?
I haven't kept up with this but from what I understand you need to desynth Artisan stuff (or Forager stuff from DoL would probably work?). So the easiest in this case would be Goldsmith (and possibly Weaver) for the heads. If you can desynth any i90 master thing for mastercraft (read in some places, not sure if a confirmation or a misunderstanding of just leveling the desynth skill), then this is less of an issue.
2) Can I get primal demi?
Titan: All ALC
Ifrit: BSM ALC CRP GSM
Garuda: BSM ALC CRP GSM
Moogle: BSM ALC CRP LTW
3) Is CUL worthless / can ALC get anything important?
I think there are some reports that CUL desynthing certain 2* fish can give one of those new swimsuits or something.
Personally I'm doing GSM at least.

The interesting thing about desynthesis is that (apparently) your DoH level doesn't matter?

GSM is at 46, dGSM is at 51.
So as long you can fund buying the items to get your desynth skill up, it doesn't look like you actually need the class leveled.
I think ARM would also be able to desynth Artisan pans, but the results (compared to Artisan specs or Forager hat) would determine whether it's worthwhile.
What demimateria do fish give? Unless that answer is "none," it seems like FSH+dCUL is the best desynth combo for pure moneymaking.
dALC is pretty useless, though; the decision not to let them desynth potions is a crippling blow. I'm also having problems justifying dCRP's existence.
Blacksmith myself. We have main crafts in my fc even tho 3 or 4 of us have max melded everything.
After that most likely Carpenter. We do everything free for each other anyways so having everything covered means we pay for nothing ever lol.
Allagan accessories don't desynth anyways
ALC has some of the cheapest Battlecraft III demimateria craftables available now (albeit nearly no Tradecraft III demimateria), but more importantly, both ALC and CRP have a lot of primal weapons, ALC in particular covering most of Titan and all SCH and SMN options. ALC's monopoly on Titan desynth might change, but it's unlikely any other class will take up the books.
Picking your second desynth class after dGSM should probably reflect combat class you're more likely to do PUG HM primals against, and for a lot of healers, ALC or CRP or both make sense.
All Titan weapons are ALC actually.
From what?
The only reason I would do PUG HM primals is if I was specifically farming primal weapons. Given that many people in those fights are going to be super-likely to lot need, I'm not sure that's a time-efficient source of demimateria. Maybe if the synthed primal weapons were i100, I could see it.but more importantly, both ALC and CRP have a lot of primal weapons, ALC in particular covering most of Titan and all SCH and SMN options. I feel like dWVR would be better.and for a lot of healers, ALC or CRP or both make sense.
To add to this...
(Assumption) Giantgall weapons.
People don't want those stupid weapons, so the mossy whatevers are dropping to cheapish status pretty quickly, and you can get 'em from the i80 18hr venture, so people will be getting quite a few.
I also don't know what Battle3 comes from yet, so if it's not i70, then disregard
Battle 3 comes from i70. Can confirm from firsthand experience with Astrolabe.
PVP gear, thats what people are saying is a good go to.
Slightly off-topic. How are gatherer's supposed to get Mastercraft Demimateria?
Buy them from a dGSM (and probably dGSM-CUL). Pretty much the same as anybody that doesn't level dGSM; Artisan's Spectacles are pretty much the only sane way to get the things.
They should drop in price pretty quickly, though; folk are reporting pretty comparable drop rates from Mastercraft and Fieldcraft III from the Specs, and you need a /lot/ of Fieldcraft IIIs, and there's not exactly cheaper sources of Fieldcraft IIIs out there.
Filedcraft IIIs area actually attainable by every single DOH class (except CUL).
Each class has a weapon "Part" that can be desynthed for Fieldcraft IIIs (eg. Rose Gold Clasps, Darksteel Breastplate, GryphonSkin Knee Pads, Suspended Trillium Flower). It's only when you "finish" the weapon/gear that they will only yeild Battlecraft IIIs.
Not sure if it's been known about, but I found this...
