Well, SE made it so much easier to reach 3* crafting with that adjustment to the cost of artisan's tools. Those sealants will still be useful since, with an artisan's tool and melded i70 offhand, it's possible to reach ghetto-4* status with chilled popoto soup.
I'm not so sure about the materia. Artisan's and Forager's left-side gear is already easy to meld, and unless we get new (craftable and meldable) crafting/gathering accessories, the materia market could take a hit.
As I said, I used a super long massive amount of steps method now for crafting 4 stars which works out pretty well but takes several min

its usually about 40+ steps
Is this method documented somewhere or some kind of trade secret? Please do share.
@ Gulkeeva
I will second Andradi, any chances you could elaborate or provide a link plz ^^.
I finally finished my ALC and CUL books for this reason.
This seems like it could be great for saving time on certain 4-star synths, mainly gear, but to me that seems as though it relies on a lot of ToT procs throughout to keep the synth going.
It does, to an extent. Requires use of CZ 3 times, MM2 twice, and HQ Bouillabaisse. I can comfortably reach the 80% - 93% range unless something goes wrong. If ToT and excellent/good procs go my way, it's an easy 100%.
EDIT: I don't know about Gulk, but I do not use any macros for 4* synths.
Are you using unSteadied Hasty Touch? At max melds and HQ Bouil, you start with 398 CP, plus 42 for the three Comfort Zones for a total of 440 CP. Each Master's Mend II is 160 CP, which leaves you only 120 CP for the Byregot's Finisher and Steadys before counting Tricks of the Trade procs.
Yeah, I'm gonna say, for a "100% HQ from NQ" there sure is an awful lot of RNG reliance there.
If it uses hasty, it's not 100%. Ever.
I'm rather thinking a couple if not more ruminations, but i'm really too lazy to try to figure it out :3
Nope its not always 100% but its close, and yes it involves some rng but its got a pretty good chance of 100%

Here's one you can see most all the "commands" used, from the very start (could fit pretty much all the commands randomly used, except the finishing 2-3 steps as you can see in the chat window). Its a very random method but pretty good results, in almost always 100%.
er oops, thats not a 4 star, but its same method used, and works on 4 star
only difference would be 3 PbP instead of 2
Made a video of a 4star craft using the above method, so it fits... the entire rotation O_o
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mc9q_EVD7ng
would probably take a paragraph to line out the rotation thats used, since its very... very situational on what you do O_o
You need 8 TOTTs minimum to be able to pull that off (you use 9 in the video you posted) and you failed NONE of your PBPs or HTs. Not saying it isn't possible, but the video you posted is probably NOT going to be the average of what someone pulls off. You get 13 quality moves before BB, and if you fail any PBPs that will cut into how many remaining HTs you can put into it (not counting HT fails).
Notice of I got manipulation also, thats also part of another "possible" rotation to extend steps out for chances at ToT if not many early on. As I said its a ton of steps, and takes several min... its basically a method to try to extend the craft out as long as possible for more ToT's to get more durability/chances at HT's.
Its about 2,500-2,600ish quality with ingenuity+ great strides + innovation + 11 stacks.
If I had gotten a red orb with great strides + 11 stacks, its like 3,000 quality...
As mentioned! Its not ideal, but it works great because its so many turns you have a pretty good chance to get many ToT's. Manipulation is used if I don't get many ToT's
The above, would of 90%+ quality at 10 stacks almost (missing 4 HT's) using all those buffs while having no good condition for the byregots, so it gives a good amount of room for error.
Why do people think we get some kind of token system for crafting?
Is it only because of this?
Maybe its just me but imo its just the NPC giving more info on how the master books etc work for newbies.Upon completing the quest "Just Tooling Around," players can inquire about master crafting tomes and tools by speaking with Guiding Star in Mor Dhona at Revenant’s Toll (X:22 Y:6).
If the dailies give some kind of token to trade in for new gear i would assume the items for that are added to the daily npc and not the one in Mor Dhona. They would also add a new quest to explain the token system imo but crafters get no new quests with this patch.
I don't remember if they specifically said it was for expansion, just saying why some people are jumping to the tokens conclusion.
