You can also get the mats from level 45 leves, might be the most efficient method.

Anyone found the items to create the new tools yet? e.g Camel Hair?
You can buy them with GC seals, allied seals, or receive them as a reward from tradecraft levequests.
More importantly, anyone have a clue as to what the droprate for moonstones is from maps?
Talk about relic stage for crafting tools >.>
still makes ya wonder, what use the tools will be in expansion, and if should drop a ton of gil to even get them (already kinda easy to 4 star HQ as is) O_o
This is like Supra: Animus. DO ALL THE THINGS FOREVER
Getting all 8 is gonna hurt.
Just how short does the new turn in gear fall from artisan's? If it is like specs and doesnt need melds, seems like a nice bridge to get supra weapon and start 4 star crafting.
I would prefer to just craft my own set of artisan armor in the end, so being able to get a set of armor that all of my crafting classes can use in conjunction for essentially free until my weaver/carpenter get their supra weapons and can HQ artisan gear would be nice.
So, if I have full HQ accessories, artisan offhand, supra, and all my main slots are this new turn in gear, just how far away am I from being able to HQ 4 star gear without melding accessories? If they are fully melded am I good to go?
Edit: Looks like turn in hands/legs/feet are all 1 CP, 1 Control short of max melded HQ class spec gear... seems good.
Head, Specs: 4 craft, 39 control, 3 CP
Body: Gown, 107 craft, 35 control, 3 CP
Hands: Fingerstalls, 4 Craft, 35 Control, 3 CP
Legs: Chausses, 4 craft 35 Control, 3 CP
Feet: Pattens, 4 craft, 35 control, 3 CP
I think in total we lose, what? 10 control and 5 CP using this gear over HQ artisan's? Something like that?
You'll still need to meld Craft/Control onto accessories to hit the 4-star craft minimums, though you'll be /very/ close to or just over the three-star minimums with a Supra, unmelded Dodore accessories, and an unmelded artisan offhand. Alternatively, the Lucis has ridiculous stats on it (+180 crafts!), and it only requires a 3-star turnin -- you'll still need a few melds on accessories with the Lucis, but it gets you pretty damned close.
Unfortunately, looks like only the specs and mainhands are currently desynthable, so going from Artisan premelds to Artisan doesn't free up FCIII or MCD.
Most of it isn't too bad. You can get 3 of cheaper GC mats per leve, moonstone takes a lot of seals, but can come from the daily quests and from maps. Big problem is that emery/cashmere/schelerite prices have gone crazy, but they still drop (sometimes in multiple) from the new dungeons, so prices should stabilize at least a little lower than their current rate.
If you're really desperate for moonstone, it's about 80k seals, or 127 i55 turnins. Good chance to work on your luminary if you gather the 1-star mats
Don't forget those 3 star crafts you need to HQ are 40 durability
Although the difficulty rating is down a bit, its still going to be rough HQ'ing something like that I'd imagine. I'll be trying my hand at some tonight possibly after raid. Probably be using the method I've been using like the video i posted earlier to do it.
Fortunately I've been sort of hoarding those mats to craft the items like suaren skin and scheelite, and a few hundred ixtal tokens so I can probably do at least a few tools once I figure an optimal method of crafting the things
Yeah, 40 Durability synths suck. At least you can turn in the NQ for the original GC mats, so you don't need to waste slots on Rumination and Reclaim.
These are really easy to HQ :s
I've done 10 of my cooking ones so far with some random combination of Manipulation and Waste Not![]()
See if you can find a 4* WVR who can make the artisan's apron for you. That's the crafted piece with the best value. That bodypiece, the 4 turn-in i70 pieces, and everything else (properly melded) should get you close enough. Would check the numbers but I'm short on time right now.
EDIT: And somebody please correct me if I'm wrong, but I think I saw that the Lucis tools require the corresponding Supra tool as part of the turn-in, so they can't be skipped.
Yea you need the Supra
Just finished the cooking oneThat's one big skillet
didn't know or if anyone hasn't mentioned it, but they can be dye'd. Rejoice who ever was talking about missing their big black cock... er.. saw!
