I find it impressive that they have had this many issues with what should be a lower player base for early access, when phase 4 should have had more players and seemed to have less issues >.>..

Anecdotal at best, but 3 people I know didn't try out phase 4, but were ready for the head start because it was advertised with their pre-order. I don't know how widely phase 4 was even advertised.

I'm guessin' that SE changed something last night and ARR status isn't accurate anymore.
Apparently according to Numbers, its been showing NA servers down since last night.

Looks the same for me. Officially they said maintenance was scheduled to end at 9:30 instead of 10:30, looks like that fell through.

Also Lodestone shows NA servers as being down from what I can see.

Login Limitation After Emergency Maintenance (Aug. 25)
After the emergency maintenance on the North American/European data Worlds which was conducted from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. on Aug. 25, to confirm the optimization of the matching server for the Duty Finder, we will be limiting the login more than usual. We will be relieving the limitation gradually as we see oversee the status.

Dear people who have supported us through XI, and the cluster that was XIV 1.0, we would like to screw you over even more by denying you access to ARR. While we understand you may be upset that you pre-ordered the game by spending 30~80$ and expected to have a fun this weekend, we felt it was necessary to give the NA/EU players a half-ass experience via the use of E-Machines and only using 2 servers (for redundancy). We would also like to discourage all of the gaijin media so that we can focus on our heavy population of JP; please, keep your dirty foriegn monies.
