People are still arguing any (leg or body) AF2 upgrade is better than Artemis+1, but 1. Where does this myth/knowledge come from? (is there a thread? a study somewhere?) and 2. how significant is it? (1% better is probably insignificant statistically for instance).

If someone has a formula like this, I would be happy :

a DEX = b Det = c Base_damage

(I know things are more complicated than that, but first order, all other things being equal)

I think it can also depend on what you plan on using your BRD for.

For instance my BRD is just gear I have passively acquired (or had leftover from 1.0) and that puts me at 434 Acc.

So I have to find Acc somewhere for it to be coil useable. Unless I meld my Accessories with Acc then DL accessories is probably a quicker Acc fix than DL Armor pieces. And you're probably running into quad melds* as extra HP is handy if possible (*unless you use T4 VIT materia)

If you don't plan on running coil with it though then that probably doesn't apply.

(EDIT: I'll probably just go for DL Eyepatch/Feet and then slap some acc melds on accessories for the record)

Also, to me it's really unclear how much sacrifice in .. say DEX you can make for a certain number of points in critical rate : it would require a shitload of parses to actually give a significant answer I believe, unless we really do know the damage formula.

As for the melding thing on the last page, I'll just say briefly that one time when melding it gave me a red "+3" on what I was adding when I full well knew the full +6 would fit. Tried several different things, eventually relogged and the window correctly showed +6 after that. I was always a little curious if that meld had been successful if it would have put the stats it was supposed to on the item or if it would have locked in the wrong stat. (I assume it would have been fine, but it seems with SE these days you never actually know about the quality of the code.)

input your current stats, then adjust them based on which gear you want to change. iirc, AF2 Body was a 4% increase OVER Relic+1 for me. Hands/Ring will only be a 1ish% increase over Relic+1.

Long time BG lurker, first time poster

Just got Artemis last night and already have AF2 head (had it before Artemis actually). Should I get Body or Legs next or +1 the bow? There seems to be some conflicting info here.

I've heard quite a bit about these Silence rotations but didn't realize it was at Turn 1. That works.

silence rotation is turn 2 you are correct. turn one you shouldn't have to do too much specific stuff as brd. just get off the glowing hexagons unless you are spawner for some reason.

There is an ADS in Turn 1 too.

I assume you have DL Body and are not factoring in that +15 Crit will increase your Crit hits. The difference in PURE dmg is very small with Relic+1, where AF2 Body is close but adds a couple percent more crits. Depending on your Legs, that could potentially be a bigger boost then the Body.

What's better:
-Spending Mythos now on Hero's Ring
-Save mythos for more AF2 down the track

I'm basically rocking DL armor w/AF2 hands and NQ Relic. DL Earrings and ring, but prioritised the rubbish Bard accessories last. So I'm still using Toxote Neck and ring, with the iLvl 55 bracelet.

It's really just a question of whether i'll get better returns from the Hero's ring in the short term or should bide my time and go for AF2 Legs or Body in another 2 weeks. There's every chance I'll be much further through coil at that stage (first run on Monday) but I don't think it's wise to treat the drops there as anything more than a nice bonus.

I'm in a similar boat but I already have AF2 head, hands and feet. I will be going for the rings and choker next because the Tox versions are terribad.
