    Arguments for manual:
    • Prebuffered actions (see above)
    • Ability to make decisions (i.e. it's better to wait .1 seconds to fire an upcoming Heavy Shot, then fire a fresh Bloodletter proc as we discussed about 10 posts back in this thread, but the macro system can't do that)
    • Full control over buffs

    Arguments for macros:
    • Less occupied hotbar space
    • Less to keep track of
    • Less room for error

Ultimately, the method you choose is entirely up to your own preference, as the difference is minimal.
NOTE: This is ONLY if you use a turbo controller that can button or keyboard macro that can do a button press 100s of times a second - human input will be not as consistent and slower on average.

From my own personal testing vs a dummy the minimum was 0.06 per GCD and could be as high as 0.12 which is a significant amount (60-120 skill speed~). You can see the macro vs direct button press thread to see more discussion but what is optimal is very subjective depending on how much you gain from using macro and your button press speed and how "perfect" your play is to use the speed skill.

From my own personal testing vs a dummy I was averaging at least 0.06 per GCD which is a significant amount (60 skill speed~). This is potentially an extra GCD every 40~ or so GCDs. Turbo button testing only apply to people using turbo buttons.

Considering your manual testing came out with the same difference.

It was minimum of 0.06 not average, and under ideal circumstances (spamming one skill vs stationary dummy with no mechanics or movement).
Or you could as I suggested do your own testing since it's entirely different per person. If I round up my earlier testing which was giving me 4 seconds extra after 30GCD the average is about 0.13 (130 skill speed).

Anyway like you said, let's not derail this thread. My original point still applies, turbo button != user input.

And likewise, this is also ONLY if you, as a human, can maintain ~30 consecutive queued GCDs, while executing BL reset procs on the very next GCD every time.

If you want to argue which presumption is more attainable in practice, I think macros win.

As I said not getting into this argument, my post DOES NOT recommend one over the either. I'm just saying that if you are not using a turbo button the presented data is not accurate.

And I'm saying that if you cannot maintain ~30 consecutive GCDs while executing BL procs within 1 GCD of reset every time, the presented data on the speed advantage of queuing is also not accurate.

You wouldn't know that though because you've demonstrably never picked up a book nor educated yourself on the matter. Let me guess, overweight housewife?

And I am saying, knock it the fuck off we have a macro thread specifically for these kinds of debates. You both know that.

Got my allagan bow today, even though I'm still using Bard's Sandals. Dropped down to 445+8 accuracy. Can't decide if I should switch from allagan neck to ultima neck for -2dex, +10,+1 accuracy, +3crit, -skillspeed or not. Absolutely no idea what I'm going to do when I finally end up getting the ifrit drop and have to take off my gryphonskin.

Also sad that my non coil crit rate is dropping from 585 to 548.

I'm always scared to drop crit rate .. What's the amount to add an extra percent?

In the 500+ range, should be around 14-15ish for a 1% increase, unless it's been changed (don't think it has) or someone has come up with something more accurate in the past month or two.

I've never seen any data showing crit gain as anything but completely linear.

Body and Neck dropped after 10 weeks of no loot (only one drop in total since then). MNK wanted me to greed with him, but I hit 'need' way before he brought it up. I felt somewhat bad for lotting on both, but fuck it.

My group finally downed T5 last night, BRD belt dropped but I wasn't able to make it. Yay. Earring dropped from T2 tonight, but I already have myth so no point grabbing it. Body and feet both dropped from T4, and I'm wearing ballad body and darklight feet. Sweet! I won the body, but the other BRD (using myth feet) won the feet. Also yay.

Maybe not optimal gear and all that good stuff, but fuck man I hate losing a 20 ilvl upgrade so somebody can sidegrade/vanity their gear.

I don't blame him. Allagan feet are best in slot.

That's fantastic to know. I'll remember that next time somebody is like "guys this is a huge upgrade for me". I'll just be like "BiS bitch get fucked" and take it anyways.

You could easily flip your logic around and say the body isn't a massive improvement for you so it should've gone to someone's alternate. I definitely wouldn't pass a BiS piece to some self-entitled clown in Darklight from a PuG.

I've been doing coil since like the first month of release or something, and have never seen the feet drop. Suck it up. Who cares if the feet would have been a bigger upgrade for you? Take your ass to the vendor and buy the myth feet just like he did.

I mean shit, would you pass the allagan bow to someone who doesn't have Elfin or Zenith because it would be a bigger upgrade for them?

That is how you should behave in pick ups, yes.

If it's a static group and you got trounced on for lots then you have a lot more pressing issues.
