They aren't going to offer free transfers to populated servers. You guys are crazy if you think they would.

I am surprised they did not do free transfers to the new servers as well though. That would be the easiest way to relieve some congestion. It has also worked in the past for them i.e. the creation of Asura and Hades in XI.

How many subs are there for the game right now? I get they increased capacity for servers by 50%, which is great. But adding a whole 3 servers? That's... it? Seriously? And I'd really like to be able to transfer off JP to NA since my ping is almost 5x greater over here, making endgame just stupid annoying, not because it's hard but because of the lag.

Have to hit level 10 in a craft before that gets unlocked though. But once you do, it is unlocked for all crafts.

I feel like quick synth has been excessively neutered, both in EXP loss and fail rate. Would seriously love guaranteed success, no HQs, and base EXP. I manually synthed like 100 cotton yarn this morning just to get HQ EXP bonuses to help avoid diremite hell a bit. In turn, each synth probably took 20-30 seconds. I'd say the advantage is pretty clear even if the system was changed.

I've only ever used quick synthesis when I know I have to afk for a bit, and gathered WAY too much of something that I don't need HQs of lol. Other than that, yeah, going for quality for more exp.

I've got like 500 fleece stacked on a retainer, leves used to hand them out like candy.

Aside: how the hell do you assign your retainer to sell stuff in a specific city?

Just have to choose one of the options (cannot remember at all what it was, still at work, but I think it was obvious) at the Retainer counter where you "create" the Retainers. Right near the Summoning Bell for them in each town.

I know it's not really a complaint about the game but...

Really, still people using dkp in 2013? My god, thought we exarcebated those relics from the past.Kinda trying to scout for a free company but stuck between casuals(which I would rage at in the event of end game raids), super hardcores(which I don't want to commit since I also raid in wow) and just general silliness...

Really wish people had the skill to raid without having to be 6/7 5 hrs a day there, and especially during my wow raid times...Guess I'm going to be stuck on this for a lot of time -_-

anyone on ragnarok that doesn't apply to the silliness above with a FC? <.<

Why do you need to sell to a specific city? All the markets are linked, as they should be.

Taxes.

The seller is always taxed, the buyer is taxed when buying from a retainer in another city. Send your retainer to Ul'dah and it's more likely to sell stuff because most people pick Ul'dah as their "home" city and shop there.

Which is retarded because it still encourages everyone to dogpile into the same city again.
