Fates really that necessary to level?
Got to Camp Dragonhead and there's a ton of people here camping the map for fates and rushing there en masse. The mobs just fucking melt once the train arrives
Also can't continue main story & run out of quests![]()

I could, but really I find that shit so boring and you never know what retards the finder's going to throw in with you.
And as the tank, you lead and are expected to be good 24/7. I just think it's bullshit that they haven't included enough quests so that, if you really wanted to, you could quest to 50.
Or maybe I've just played too much warcraft
I'm not sure how you've run out of quests really. I have been ok actually skipping quests so I'll have them for different jobs I'll eventually level. Are you also doing hunting logs?
Eh, I have a little to catch up on my hunting log but I don't know if it will be enough to reach 38 to continue the story.
Maybe I've missed out somewhere, but generally every place I've gone where the main story has taken me I've picked up every quest in the area
dubbel
Coerthas has like a dozen quests per settlement plus absurd amounts of FATEs. I didn't grind that much on them and still coasted through there. Though I was perma-rested and I guess armory bonus.
I don't log in before work and AFK until I get home, but I do like to fuckin AFK for 1-3 hours and not being booted from the game, so this message pisses me off:
http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...29#post1204429With that said, we have also noticed that many players are leaving their characters idle in game due to the login restrictions we have set in place to maintain server stability. In response to requests to address this issue, we are working to implement a feature that will automatically log out characters that are idle for a prolonged period of time.
To all the bitches who wanted this implemented: FU!
I hate that I can't talk to friends or check whose on in my FC while in dungeons. I really hope this eventually is something fixed.
Oh I know of methods to fix it, that's why the whole shit is so stupid, besides turbo controllers, rubber tape your jump button, little scripts or what have you, you could even do some shit in game to bypass it. In Aion just setting up Bazaar worked for a while and auto-run too. A year after release I somehow managed a spot at AH, just standing there, doing nothing but not getting kicked, anywhere else I would get kicked.
But my lazy ass with my first world problem hates that I have would have to do this kind of shit for a rule that will be implemented. A rule that will be useless once the free month is over (or maybe in 3 months), but will never ever go away again.
I haven't hit that point yet, but at level 30 I have not even gotten to the point of the MSQ to unlock Haukke Manor and I believe that is a level 28 quest. I've done some grinding on FATEs, but I skipped almost all side quests between 15-20 and some 25-30 in order to have quests to do for other jobs.
Random complaint. Getting dropped out of cut scenes for being attacked when the spot is designated by the quest to stand there. I even died...
Well I just got to 38 and a bunch of new quests have unlocked at camp dragonhead.
Also lolled at SE's fine contribution code for fates. I hit roc with one single ability and got gold medal.
Also leve timer restrictions wtf. I can get behind this for professions. We should be able to spam combat leves to our hearts content imo.
Those book things in XI didn't have a restriction on how many you could do right?
It's because the programmers were lazy and didn't implement method for cross-world chat. All it would take is one more parameter (specifying destination server ID, which defaults to your home server if not specified) for each line of chat sent and the back end method to send a chat message between servers (in other words, a simple TCP socket listener).
Today, I queued in the Duty Finder for a Guildhest at my level and then went to Limsa Lominsa to cook and clear out some inventory. I eventually got placed in a party... right after the closing cutscene for the Level 10 Culinarian quest started.
There's no way to skip out of that cutscene. You have to sit through all the textboxes and unnecessary animations. Then, in this case, you had to pick your reward, which took up additional time. And, finally, I had to open up my character page and switch back to Arcanist.
I had literally one second left when I hit the "Commence" button.
TLDR: Let us skip the mini in-engine cutscenes.
They need to extend the time on the join for DF. Keep it at 40s for the initial window but have an option "Give me a minute" that will give you an extra minute or two so you can blow through annoying dialogue or a CS or craft or end a fate, etc. so you can change to the job you signed up as and actually get in the instance.
