Replace some with most, and you've got it.
They are doing it because Keep isn't tuned for players that weren't given max gear for playing 1.0 for so long, or aren't lucky enough to be on a Legacy server and be carried through. There's two different games being played, with maxed 1.0 characters, and to an extent their FC friends, live in this bubble thinking the games easy, when most of the rest are slamming into a brick wall, with little that can be done about it.
What does Non-Legacy Server have access to?
Has no gear available to them to get through post 50 content; best gear is the 47 greens, from Vale, if it even drops.
Has no economy/gill, so they are losing money every day.
Have no crafter/gatherers to think about starting relics or even craft some semblance of lvl 50 gear or even meld materia.
Likely don't have Subs completed, making the whole task that much harder, and not a word anywhere in game that they'd be necessary to have a shot at completing the dungeons; hell, they probably don't even know what to take if it's even crossed most people's minds.
It's little wonder they spam the 50 story missions, hoping for a shot at some semblance of Tombstones, to be able to even consider upgrading their gear so that they can actually do the post story content. Are there exceptions to this case; of course and if you're reading this and are one of them, then great, but you're not the vast majority of people playing the game right now. Hell, I seem to be an exception on a Legacy server as my play time differs from most of the FC 1.0 players, so I haven't been able to join them on their runs or they are busy doing Primal HM when I am on. When I do get the chance, its maybe with one other person, and then we're at the DF mercy, full of disconnects, POS 1.0 players who have a complex about not getting their speed runs done, lots of people who need to learn the place, and lots who just can't cut the gear check.
Um.. on non-legacy server and i spammed keep after getting only ifrit weapon. It's pretty easy especially with skipping all the monsters. Maybe not 12 minute easy but i average 20-30 minute runs. Pretty much all the level 50's i am associated with on my server have capped their tombstones with only ifrit/gc weapons. Hardest part of keep is getting past the bug part of demon walls fight after that its cake walk if you know where to not stand when.
All this was done using duty finder so it's not like i had that magical group that just clicked.
Um AF, GC gear, and Wanderer's Palace exist on all servers. Between those 3 you can easily be geared enough for Keep.
True, but how many people are actually doing that, and how exactly does the game point you towards that progression path, to say nothing of knowing which of your sub-job's abilities to use? In my DF experience, it doesn't, which is why there's a lot of Keep fail going on. Also, keep in mind my post wasn't so much that you can't do Keep, so much as it was that there's two very different experiences going on in-game, easily accounting for behavior being seen.
Screw what I said before. There needs to be a report option after right clicking on a name. Also there needs to be separate camera options for keyboard and mouse.
Just tried to do my first Amdapor run. Tank's first time and he doesn't know how to do speed runs. The healer immediately leaves followed by a DPS. 25 minutes in the DF queue for that shit. So glad FF has the best community.
I bought the game at original launch and my friends might be talking me into playing now. What are the steps to go from old school retail to new school badass game? Do I get any perks/freebies?
LAZY ENTITLED PRICK.
Nah just messing. If i recall right you do get some nice shinies. Onion Helm, the Warrior of Light Helm, Baby Behemoth, and a few other things i can't recall... Asuran Armguards? All of it pretty good armor until level 15 or so... Which will take a little longer than one would expect so they last well. The Helm i think just gives 20% Exp bonus on monsters killed til level 10, Onion Helm has reduced Durability loss... Asuran Armguards are actually quite nice hands.
Anyone else having trouble not being able to need gear from dungeons? Happens to me about 10% of the time (not counting gear I cant actually roll need on) last night happend twice in a row... triple checked that I meet requirements even won it on a greed roll and equipped it right away...
Walk out of my inn room and already 3 gil sellers shouting. This is seriously getting out of fucking hand.
The learning curve for the game needs to be reduced when you hit 50. The MQ fights getting up to 50 need to be harder or something. The people I've played with on my server that are 50 and working on relics amaze me. Tanks that don't dodge stuff on chimera. People that don't know how to stun certain moves (looking at ifrit eruptions, rams voice, dragons voice, radiant breath). Shit doing amdapor keep and the WHM wiped us FIVE times because he didn't understand you need to hide behind the statues LIKE EVERYONE ELSE DOES when the aoe is about to pop. He just stood out there in the middle and got hit every time. Demon wall took us five tries too because the whm didn't just regen everyone and pop medica II when gnats popped. It's ridiculous. During hydra I say "Stand MAX distance to nuke/cure so you don't get hit by radiant breath". Whm stands in it, gets hit two times and goes down. Tank doesn't avoid the other attacks and wipes. People need to stop asking questions first and instead search youtube for videos or threads and read up first. Even some of the JPs on this server are so terrible I want to claw my eyes out.
There really does seem to be a hugeeeeeeeeeeee amount of just plain fucking retarded people playing it is honestly boggling my mind that they even manage to use a PC/PS3, is it honestly that hard to use some damn common sense?
Did a few low level dungeons recently. Got into Sast and the GLD had no shield... and literally would just run up and start auto attacking... nothing else. Another GLD doing Tam and he would shield lob then spam fast blade on 1 target. Neither of them would try to get aggro off anyone else, would just sit there attacking the first mob lol. Dungeons were easy enough we got through there no prob... but I just don't know. Had a MRD in Hali who didn't know what enmity was, but actually listened to advice and got better towards the end.
