Did my first ever xiv dungeon run in sastasha last night. We got a gla wearing lv5 goodies and dieing repeatedly. As the pgl, I was tanking if the particular mob lasted more than about 10 seconds. We also wiped at I think it was the 2nd captain or miniboss fight, it worked so much better when I decided to use the signs to mark and get them on track. I fear running harder dungeons based on that run and everything I've read...
Also, 2 retainer limit can go diaf. I hoard stuff, not sell it SE...
A little point of note I found, when managing your retainer if you pick the sell from retainer inventory option you can do every function except transfer gil. Just hit i to open you inventory and you can sell from there or your retianer's, and you can transfer things between them. Why SE had to make a complicated structure is beyond me. Probably the same reason there isn't a right-click>report spam/blist...
They need to let you turn off the "crowded area" background noise. I imagine the ambient volume would do it, but I want to hear the other things. I get really tired of that damn lalafell laughing every 15 seconds.
This might have been said before, haven't read all thread but just in case, Ladies and Gentlemen the anti RMT macro:
/blist add <r>
Confirm on pop-up, the latest people to have sent you a /tell will be blacklisted
It's a fucking level 1 synth and I'm level 10. I should NOT be breaking it with Quick Synthesis, let alone THREE breaks. This. Is. BULLSHIT.
Holy shit at level 45 you get 4 pieces of AF1 handed to you on a silver fucking platter?
How is anyone supposed to feel accomplished or proud of their character when shit's just handed to you like that.
Seriously they took XI and dunked it into the Western MMO bucket.
This so hard
For the fucking love of god I just don't understand why people don't take the time just to level up to the maximum possible level for the fights that are capped. (i.e. entering Garuda at 44 rather than 46). And on top of that, these gimp bastards that gimp up the party show up underleveled and with level 15 gear they got from the second dungeon. And then they get pissed when they die to AoE because holy fuck its hard to hide behind a rock. Duty Finder brings mind boggling experiences. I'd recommend just /shouting or finding people yourself
I've only managed to get wins through DF because I normally bring atleast 1 person I know with me
But this is what the people want!
I was about to murder this NPC and SE. I seriously just stopped everything and stared in anger at the chat lines right before those when he says it's earth elemental. I don't know which quest line made me more annoyed, the whole titan bullshit or this one.
Spoiler: show
I think I said it before, but I'll say it again. The story is so damn boring. Yes it does have some interesting/good parts, but at the same time they're so few and between so much pointless crap I just spam through and not give a damn about.
Also the community of this game is getting on my nerves. It seems like the typical "OMG not optimal setup" crap is starting to fester up again. I'm hoping this just because PUGs for the most part have no sense of teamwork/communication and not an indication of class stacking coming back.
Make 3 friends. Problem solved.
Probably because most tanks past that point cant function with the concept of moving out of the red cone/square/circle on bosses. Free Company pals did a Brayflox when I was at work and had a pally tank, he took everything to the face and never moved last boss out of poison, even after being told how to do each fight multiple times. It changes past 30 because SCH then exists and fewer tanks seem to be around post-Brayflox's.
Eh, key farming/coffer farming was a pain in the dick. I always helped people out in XI but having to do that shit was annoying. That said, yeah wish there was something more to getting the gear, or at least spread it out so you get one at 42, 43, 45, 46 and chest at 50.Holy shit at level 45 you get 4 pieces of AF1 handed to you on a silver fucking platter?

While I completely agree here, it was still a great feeling when you finally received the AF piece. Coffer hunting was terrible, and I much preferred the quests to get the AF, but I'll take either of those 2 scenarios over just getting it handed to me.
Different subject, up until the late 40's, the main storyline is quite possibly the worst ever made.
Yeah, 4 pieces from 1 quest is a bit excessive. I wasn't a fan of the missions in V1 (Since fuck trying to find 7 others after the rush for them was done) but 4 for 1 quest? Wow...
At least AF seems like decent gear this time around to get you up and going.
That's what comes to my mind every time I hear that... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7AQ718vPDl4
AF is there to make you look cool and to set a certain baseline for people's gear at level 50 so that they aren't running around with low level trash. You get better stuff at 50 pretty quickly if you do Amdapor, etc. I'd compare it to being level 75 in FFXI, when that was still the cap, and getting your job's AF. Easy to get, looks cool, not particularly useful. AF2 is already in the game and requires a lot more work/time to acquire.
I really haven't looked at much for endgame since I'm still 39. That and I still need to find a FC for endgame since no way in hell I'm going to rely on a PUG when I get that far into the game. Dunno if I want to wait for the server transfer to see if they're free so I can jump on Leviathan, or drop my current FC and look for one where I'm currently at.
It had a couple of moments, but yeah, generally meh. Too much side-quest type buffer which really broke up the storyline way too much for it to be coherent. I was about to flip tables at the level 49 stew quest. Asking the world-saving adventurer to make and deliver stew in between world-saving missions...really?
The post-credits lead-in to endgame was pretty neat though.
My jimmies weren't really rustled by the pre-Titan stuff (wax on wax off secret test of character bullshit) or the pre-Garuda stuff (of course this one is wrong element too and of course the next one will joke about it). But that stew thing was kind of a ball-kicker. Because we HAD to have some justification for dicking about in Bluefog for more than 2 minutes before rushing into the final dungeons. It couldn't have been like "choose your response" motivational speech to the grunts. Nope.
Minor unrelated complaint: I hate that strafe left/right + "move backwards" makes you move at slow backpedal speed even in Legacy movment type.
