It's mainly due to the sudden damage increase in Brayflox, and PLDs during the time doesn't have Shield Oath. The puks in there do some pretty strong damage even with a full Calvary set, so sleeping at least those mobs makes it easier on your healer. For absolutely everything else? Yeah, I agree, CC is not needed at all. But hey, if they wanna do it, I'm not gonna complain. I'm a flexible tank.

Also, anyone else get an emergency maintenance notice, but with no timetable?

I dont know about you, but every PLD I have had until now (ecxept for one) was getting bomb rocked from adds, like they were getting hit like a truck and I needed to bomb cure them constantly to even keep them alive. (like literally spam cure macros to no end). I have honestly no idea how much dmg a good PLD should take, but so far 3 adds seems to bring down their HP in like seconds.

Admittedly I had a Bard with us for AoEs, but there is plenty of time to kill them all with just melee if you get them weak enough. Though yeah it is a pain in the ass trying to cooperate like that with a PUG.

It was just an assumption I extrapolated due to the way they worded/felt about it during all the log in issues a couple weeks ago.
Chances are they'll do something XI style with it sooner than later.

Last time in any way or shape I had an issue wast last year with 200 ping during december and some slight d/cs, before leaving I asked my party to let me try and see other games: rift 30 ping, wow 15, gw2 no delay think was like 20 ping.I also knew the isp people before they founded it and we are close friends, no throttling going on, all ports open besides 8080 and 433 that they use(might be the problem? well shit for square can't ask my provider to change it's working ways for their needs of 20 fucking thousands open ports).

Raided yesterday night in wow, ZERO delay, no dc, no lag, no shit.Log in ffxiv, since day 1, delays, lag, abilities not working.After the 1 year ticket fiasco and this shit, I'm tired of square enix, I really wanted to enjoy the game, but this is just SHIT.

Based on last week's maintenance, they upgraded the server capacities to where I think everyone was playing nicely (exception: HNM fates and overloaded duty servers), both of which are unrelated to total login population.

The portion of the infrastructure that still sucks is the login servers, which get easily overwhelmed.

Combine these two facts - isn't it bad to do auto-AFK now? People will have to relog every time they eat, shower, whatever. Which further hammers your login server choke point.

People were literally spamming the login server because there wasn't a proper queue implemented. It was pretty much like people were DDOSing the login server. With more open spots on the servers people get in faster and don't have to repeatedly bash the login server until they get in.

What server are you on Neviskio? Seems weird that nobody else has the same problem.

Ragnarok server, though I understand not many have it here, in game, half my ls has the same issue and we're all from italy, and I find plenty of people in dungeons that have the same issue, less marked.Official forums too have people reporting, I'm just pissed that they keep bouncing back to my isp at square...It's damn working fine and still they blame it, if I had those issues in all games sure...

I'm also super sour of their support treatment, never seen such a horrible support team, I really am considering stopping buying square games untill they fix their shit up <.<

Btw just to confirm now that I'm calmer: even my other friends here in the same zone as me even near my home with different connections and isps or generally around my region in italy have the same issue, I don't think square thought it right when they did the servers...

Also ping -t or tracert to the montreal center shows me 125 latency...I've played wow with 300 and never had such huge delay -_- tracert highest ping on some cogentco passing nodes was 181 which is a bit high maybe, but I'd consider it fine being the servers in canada, if it was playable in game -_-

I have that problem too. Was doing Siege of Orgrimmar yesterday and wasn't getting touched by a fucking thing, my internet works fine etc (FIOS), but meanwhile I have huge amounts of input lag in FFXIV.

I pinged to the montreal center as well with about an 80-90ms.

I haven't had a single issue yet with delay or lag in-game. PROUD TO BE AN AMERICAN, WHERE AT LEAST I CAN PLAY!

My complaint is with Mythology tomes only being really acquirable in a single dungeon that is boring and not challenging. You would not have to wait in 45 minute AK queues if people were able to que for at LEAST Wanderer's Palace as well for M tomes. I could deal with speed runs, but now with trash being required...

Does it log you out back to the login screen or does it just kick you and bring you back to character select? If it's the latter I don't think it would have much of an impact on the servers.

It leaves you right before character select. So where you'd be after you login & hit play. The big menu with the crystal prelude and start/opening movie/config/exit options and the giant ass logo
