Complaint: I'm getting a little bothered that there is no culture behind the races.
I'm not looking for a Windurst/Sandy/Batsok city thing where the races stem from (although that would make sense), but I am not noticing a difference in personality/culture/speech patterns that the race/tribe selection blurbs in the character creation screen reference.
Did I miss something? Has this been explained?
-Limsa has Pirates.
-Ul'Dah has Mercs.
-Gridania has Tree Huggers.
NPC are likely to have lived in the cities for any number of years, if not their whole life. It's unlikely that they would retain much of their tribe's culture/whatever. The little tribe/clan blurb is there more to describe adventurers, because nobody has a clue where they came from.
Foresight can have SOME use, but that's about it in terms of worthwhile skills to have set except Raise, which doesn't even really have much of a use on the hotbar since it can only be used outside of fights.
Well he was a lalafell. Doesn't that make him annoying by default? Seriously though, as annoying as the voices were (especially lalafell's high pitched crap) Rauhban's VA just seemed like he tried, but in the end still sounded like an emotionless wet noodles.
I want to say it's because he's supposed to be this massive guy with a big, booming voice (especially in scenes where he's supposed to be speaking with volume and intensity to an audience), but the VA doesn't actually raise his voice whatsoever, he just tries to sound more "tough." It's as if he's trying to deliver his lines without waking up his mom in the room next door.
P.S. Why the shit would they restrict you from quick-synthing dyes?
"Nooooooooooooooo!" type lines pretty much suck everywhere, though.
Good point,. Though yeah, his voice pretty much kills the mood/atmosphere for me out of everyone in the game.
That's probably because the VA had no idea what was going on in the scene and read directly off the script.
I will occasionally get start and stop lag after a few hours of Titan attempts which causes me to do really shitty things like get hit by "hey there was an AoE under your feet half-done casting". I don't know if its my ISP being shitty or connection to SE's servers being shitty but I'm inclined to think the latter since attack callouts in teamspeak didn't seem delayed.
Jesus fuck their stupid Fate medal coding.
I arrive at a fate late and flash 5 mobs 2 seconds before it ends and get gold. I tank the big cyclops fate boss from 100% to 0% flawlessly while other crap people get slaughtered and get bronze.
Fuckers.
Queued up for Brayflox, farming the Battlemage set (best looking set in the damn game, Lv32 lul). Zone in with a friend, find two identical Huyr males in swimsuits dancing/grinding on each other....
Whatever, I put up with it, emote back. They proceed to rock the dungeon. Better tank and dps than I've found at level 50.
