If an iLvl check is already in place then it's fuck-all useless from what I've seen.
Let us set our own thresholds for who we want to be grouped with.

Yeah, I get its purpose and stuff but it mostly sucks. However, I had an awesome party in dark hold last night. Tank rage quit b/c he kept talking shit and being slow so I asked him to hurry up. Me as SMN, a BRD and a WHM then trioed, killed first boss with my pet tanking, made it halfway to 2nd, then actually got a great tank in. Was a lot of fun and a nice surprise.
Not all people are like that uncommunicative in DF, fortunately. I had a few fantastic groups with really fun people. My big gripe about this is that once the run is over you're not likely to see them ever again. They have to put in place some methods for cross server interaction. Hell, even XI supported cross server friend lists and messaging.
I'm glad i'm in a decent FC because my experience with people in DF has only gotten worse as I got closer too and attained 50. People are just assholes right off the bat for no real reason about half the time. Like can we just fucking attempt whatever it is one time before 2 or 3 people starting talking shit or acting like elitist assholes. Shit is still in it's free trial period no need to act like the game has been out for 5 years already jfc. I guess it's like any MMO though. it is what you make of it, get a good FC, do what you enjoy and do your best to avoid the shit you don't.
Getting tired of Amdapor Keep via Duty Finder myself.
People keep going in with AF gear and level 45 weapons expecting to get past the first two bosses without any DPS issues, then they ragequit at Demon Wall because the boss is still over 50% HP when adds come up and blame it on Paralyze and me not spamming Shield Bash.
Shout parties are a million times better if you're going down the PUG route. Sometimes I can get in a speed run within 5 minutes as a DPS and there's no way that's happening via the DF. Plus people from the same server are more accountable for their actions so they suck less. But you have to camp those shouts like NMs if you're a DPS lol.
At the very least the option to repeat the dungeon with the same group should be available, tho with the current queues it's a token gesture.
After queueing 45 mins the first time (not able to AFK or you risk missing the prompt) then doing the dungeon, a lot of people are either going to be finished or at least want to take a break. I certainly don't feel like queuing for another 30-45 mins again immediately after being chained to my PC for all that time.
This should honestly be how a lot of dps should find dungeons. Look through your server, find some tanks, send them a message, see whats up. Actually type out a question and dont fucking message me with "SUP DUNGEON?" because i'm going to suddenly hate you for the rest of your life.
Will mirror wanting some kind of combo macro command to cut down on claw-hand syndrome. Could make something like:
/macroicon "True Thrust"
/comboready "Full Thrust" <t>
/comboready "Vorpal Thrust" <t>
/ac "True Thrust" <t>
...with the order going "True > Vorpal > Full" assuming all steps connect. Bonus perk on people not needing to buy special hardware to make the game a little more user friendly.
2 minor ones I noticed when looking through some screenshots I took.
1. How 'flat" dye makes metal armor look.
2. Your characters head not being able to move in heavy armor. My PLD looks like he's in a headlock when I have my sword drawn and cutscenes were sometimes awkward in it.
Speaking of Heavy Armor, the Darklight Heavy Armor for PLD/WAR looks god awful.
Had a pretty precious experience in DF a couple nights ago. Helped a FC-mate with Totorak, me WHM him ACN. 2 pickups were MRD and PGL, both their first+highest job by the looks of it.
Trash mobs are trash so I just nuke the hell out of them with Cleric Stance + Stone II and pull hate. Tank gets extremely butthurt and randomly afks or waits 2 minutes between pulls for the rest of the run (good thing we have Topaz). PGL wasn't awful but made barely any effort to kill adds. Again I'll grant that they were new and this is more than likely their first time in the dungeon. But lol.
It seems like now that everyone knows FATE exp far surpasses doing dungeons, the DF is really dead for lower level dungeons. I was leveling my THM this past weekend and trying to get a group for Toto-rak took 90+ mins in the middle of the day. That's exceedingly longer than I've ever waited as DPS.
Another thing is I hope they make some adjustments for AK and or the DF servers, I had another exceedingly long Q time waiting to pair me up with a group then 45+ mins waiting for an instance to open. I assume groups are having a hard time in the instance and taking the full 90 min allotment, or there just aren't enough instances of AK for the mass amount of lvl 50's now farming it.
Just not enough I think. Full groups waiting 25+ minutes seems to be the norm right now. I'm sure this will be addressed though.
SE needs to slightly lower FATE exp rewards and slightly increase dungeon exp. FATES are creating level 50 players with shitty gear and no idea of how to play their role in a party. Dungeon exp is pretty decent already, but it needs a buff to pull people from FATES.
Brayflox was giving me 1200-1500 exp per trash mob, and 6000 exp per boss.
Qarn was giving me 1400-1800 exp per trash mob, and 8000 exp per boss.
I can only imagine what Cutters, Dzmael, and Vale trash mobs give.
This was with 50% exp buff for already having a level 50, rested bonus, food bonus, and chain bonuses. (Something like 178% bonus exp.) I've had the rested bonus the entire game so far (I log out via the bed), and I've never lost it.
FATES need a nerf.
Dungeons definitely need their exp buffed, by all rights they should be much more rewarding than FATEs exp-wise, and it's not like they're super rewarding in terms of gear anyway (RNG-fest).
They require actual attention and thought and not just fucking around doing whatever you want to complete, things people need to know for actual end game content.
FATEs are about spending a few mins tagging enough damage on enough mobs to get gold then move onto the next (or if you're clever, cross classing flash and just doing that for a few seconds).
Poor hests. No one gives a fuck about hests.
Well they're only worth doing once really.
