It wasn't so much an LS war as it was a vendetta.
Just so you guys know, because you made fun of poor old Rata he kicked me from the social BlueGartrHyperion linkshell so your actions have grave consequences and are serious business.
Your sacrifice is a noble one.
OH. Something that really bothers me. Food buff/sanction/those EXP scroll things duration going down while you're logged out. WHY? WHY FUCK YOU SE WHY.
I just can't thrive the way I used to thrive and validate my life in ff11.
So tired of the retarded ass comparisons of ff11 and ff14 relic weapons. Having the name "relic" means as much as both games having a summonable version of titan. Its like comparing an apple to a xylophone, it makes no sense. Game has been out a month, more content is incoming, these weapons WILL NOT BE THE BEST IN GAME FOREVER WITHOUT MORE EFFORT. Going to start using caps on this forum so maybe some people can get it.
No one gives a shit if new content is incoming, MMOs have a very small window to capture interest before the masses move on to the next feeding frenzy. If SE thinks people are going to wait 6 months for them to crank out new things to grind then they haven't been looking at other MMOs on the market. Perhaps because the game exceeded expectations they don't really give a shit if tons of people drop within the first 3 months but not immediately addressing things like culling is unacceptable.
I am happy to report that the main story of this game alone is worth the 29.99 even if it descended into filler arc bullshit midway to pad out the storyline. If you compare XIV to the bullshit that was the original FFXI storyline, you'll see the whole thing was a step in the right direction and has the potential to surpass Chains of Promathia.
Spoiler: show
The question remains if SE can coalesce a dedicated base to drum up interest in this game and keep people the way they did with XI. The era of camping, soulcrushing drop rates and six months to stage 4 a weapon may be over but they're going to have to do better than repeating primals, castrum boredom and infinite AK runs to keep people around.
Wasn't the first encounter with an Ascian in 1.0 a robed floating figure with skeletal hands and wings? I'm wondering if all the Ascians we see in ARR are all currently possessing somebody or if they just retconned the shit out of that.
If it's the latter well... >_>
Someone mentioned how XIV's token system is very similar to WoW and other modern MMOs but as someone else already pointed out they did it in sort of a crappy way by only having basically only one dungeon that matters (AK) when WoW pretty much always sticks you in a rotation of 4 or 5 dungeons in a given tier of content. Also oftentimes the dungeons had related quest chains that were not forced on the player so when you had time you could go and learn more details about the lore of said dungeon.
Doing ifrit for a friend, he resisted my first two shield bashes and 2 more throughout the fight. I stunned nothing but eruption......wtf
it's stupid i know but it just bothers me.
Standard controls: can spin camera while moving to look around.
Legacy controls: no backpedal, and always move in correct direction regardless of which way your character is facing (with standard 'A' will move you left if youre facing a target in front of you, and move you right if you're facing behind.)
No fucking way to combine both.
I just witnessed a pld in gilgamesh asking a brd for tips on how to tank the last boss in AK.

It's his confirmed original account. He has Relic+1...
HOW ARE THESE PEOPLE ALLOWED TO PLAY!?!?
Anantaboga is like the easiest thing about that place...
I've been repeating myself in multiple places while being ignored because apparently one phrase I ever said compromised my reasoning forever( oh internet how we love you):
this game is a clone of modern mmos, which FAILED to copy the good things of modern mmos, but got all the worst possible decisions out. People have decided that they don't like the idea of being playing a wow/rift/swtor/etc clone, and they don't want to acknowledge the fact that mechanically, it is just a sub-par mmo in most respects.
Can it be fun? for fucks sake it can be, it has really good upsides but it remains that mechanically it's a bad clone of most other games. I don't understand what's hard to grasp in the concept of "it's not up to standards" for most people, even if the comparison is glaringly obvious(not talking about you here, just quoted you to bring forth the point!)
Also I might be guessing wrong but it seems most people in this topic are finally encountering situations that in other games, being ffxi the most prominent, they never found due to a plethora of reasons, that are quite standard to most other games.
Just last post of nitsuki is kinda something that doesn't surprise me anymore from 2005... I encountered these people and everything that was written about princess whms before and all that shit every day since 10 years ago, that's why before I argued some other games atleast felt they had a better community(don't want to bring it more though, definitely up for having a chat on this in pm/actual chat but not derailing here)
I know probably most people know too, but I'm still surprised on the various ffxiv forums how most people find this a new thing, I guess it is new for non-wow players but still XD
Also, I really really am pissed about square enix pr, take this example:
Yesterday and the day before my server nemesis-eu con wow had massive lag spikes and people crashing, one hour after the problem started, there was an announce to apologize for that, they were fixing and investigating, and 2 days later it works again generally fine, people have got instant support from gms on their tickets. I know 9 years of dev, not launch, they got money out of their asses, I don't bloody care, there's damn standards to abide and I fail to accept that japanese devs just don't give a shit, why the fuck make the common point if for them it's not damn common, they always have to do it their retarded way -_-
edit: I just reread my mumbo jumo, might have to edit but in a hurry, apologies if not making sense, just got up early morning <.<
Tanks who can't hold hate and whine about the DDs doing too much damage to the trash mobs in AK. Nothing annoys me more as BLM than having to kill one mob at a time because as soon as I start AoEing/maximising my Thunders I start tanking one or two of the mobs. Though it might just be that I'm over geared with an under geared tank, I don't know how hard it is to hold hate on 3 mobs.
