But the best part is that they already know how to make this shit work in Japan.....but can't apply that "technology" to the other data centers....just like how they couldn't figure out how to do the EA codes in NA/EU. Eh them claiming to fix it might just be them actually fixing 1 thing and another thing breaks. I used to give WoW shit about this all the time before I got into IT, now it doesn't even phase me. So much shit can just go wrong for no reason. Have shit work w/o a hitch for months on end and then suddenly it doesn't want to anymore even though nothing has changed lol. Not sure what the coding has to do with regionalization though or am I missing something? Compiled code at the ground floor = same no matter what language o_O

This too. For the lvl 5 class quest just for Limsa there are around 20-30 ppl standing around it on Adamantoise, and another 20-30 on the story quest hub. Now times that by all the servers and any other story instance/group trying to join the duty finder server and it's just bottle necking the fuck out of it. They needed to take the servers down before this but im guessing they were letting people fuck with it just to gather data on what might be the cause other then severe bottlenecking.

My goofy ass level 50 PLD I had in the Jurassic era of 1.0, stuck on the level 15 instance and can't go any further.. But I'm not concerned because SE tells me it has already been fixed!

Didn't they also state that the first two maint. were for the login issues? I'm sure they tried to fix the Duty Finder but it didn't work, but they did fix all the login issues (I think anyways).

Either way, it's pretty lulzy but I'm glad they're actively doing stuff.

Not to be a dick, but I'll have a civil discussion outside of the Random Complaint thread. This thread is for me to vent my frustrations on my perceived bias.

Why is it so hard to over compensate on servers/resources in the first few weeks and then scale back?
It's probably all virtual anyway.

For something like this it should all be hardware. Virtual is run on top of hardware after all.

In hindsight, since they failed horribly at getting their shit together on time, P4 should have been longer to confirm the problem was -actually- fixed as much as possible.

What's annoying me the most right now is how they've closed 8/15 of the NA servers off from character creation because there's too many simulatenous logins. We're not even at official launch yet. How did you manage to plan out the server architecture so shittily that this is a problem on day one. My friends have been switching back and forth between servers now because we can't get everyone onto the same server. It's a waste of time and makes EA completely pointless.

WHAT THE EFF....

Finally could enter the THM class quest instance for "The Thread of Superiority" after trying and timeouting like 20 times.

Went towards Momodi's Urn.

Then suddenly....

".... has joined your party."

The person who joined me clicked on the Urn, my event was interrupted. we were both stuck, had to relog.

Seriously.. WTF. This is supposed to be a solo instance.

Complaint: Was the random question thread removed on purpose? I have a bunch of stupid shit to ask (can you customize floating battle text?! etc) and I feel like a new thread is poor form. Should I make a new one or is it intentional to make the forum look active or some shit?

Something similar just happened to me. Entered the ARC15 class quest instance first try, but ended up in a party with some other ARC from another server. Cleared the quest faster at least!

I feel like it has to have something to do with advertising, but I'm not going to complain about that too much considering it's a free forum. I do agree that the rqt threads are fantastically useful even without being able to search all that well (google was still decently effective for it, though) and it's painful not to have them around.

What's the deal with full servers, btw? Did they set the capacity really low or are there legitimately a shitload of people checking it out? I have a hard time believing multiple non-legacy servers filled in less than a day during early access period.

edit: can I complain about myself not refreshing the page before I posted, fuck me lol

Still can't create a character on the server I want due to the lock. Even woke up at 5am to get in. Was able to get one character on a friends server at least that was locked earlier, but that's not where I intended to play.

Rather sit in a 500 person que than not be able to even create a character.
