I just picked a random weapon, I don't care about primal weapons because it takes a day to make a relic.
I believe the biggest complaint is the lack of a token system for primal drops so you don't go 0/34 looking for a bow or w/e

I literally went 0/200+ for Ifrit's Bow in 1.0. The current system is a huge improvement over that >_> (I ended up getting a better bow before it ever dropped in the end)
They should've added /visor for level 50 cloaks, to put hood up or down.
I find nothing wrong with the current primal system. I went 1/10 for my axe though so obviously I have no complaints but can see why people who are 0/50 might be really annoyed since i've had to deal with that shit in other MMOs, but like others have said, get a GC weapon and do relic quest if Ifrit/Garuda arn't putting out. Thankfully there's more then just 1 option (Ifrit, Garuda, Titan and Relic) and I think Wanderer's drops a weapon too? Not sure since I havnt run it. Far more options then most MMOs where its only "This SINGLE boss drops your weapon, better hope you get it fucker!...also he's on a 7 day lockout period..DEEEEEZ NUUUUUTS"
Would like this; would also like a vanity slot for actual cloaks or mantles. I'd like to having something draping off my shoulders with "standard" gear like harnesses and chainmail. Obviously relic would stay untouched, but, base as the graphics were, I still fucking miss having a cloak in WoW, even if it was nothing more than a strip of rawhide leather flapping off my back.
At least give us the option for a FC tabard.
Never nerf, only buff. SE simply has to buff dungeons and chance their concept of trash, because FATEs are essentially nothing but trash - heavily, HEAVILY reward-rich trash.
For primal weapons you have a 1 in 9 chance of the weapon you want dropping. Then you have to win the lot if there are others in the party on the same job.
Titan primal weapon is even worse because pretty much no one doing Titan will need that weapon on their main job because they're about to replace it with a relic, but no doubt these people will still need on it just because they can, then not even use it. Even if they're nice and pass the greed system has no way of prioritising so everyone will greed on it.
The 1.0 Garuda system seemed best, but change it slightly. Why not drop everyone a token when you beat a primal, then 10 tokens = a weapon? Surely you deserve a weapon after 10 kills.
If you can comfortably beat Titan (I know many can't) then getting a relic can be less time consuming than getting a primal weapon you want.
god dammit I should stop reading the of forums, people defending idiotic square decisions are making me go retarded...
I just dearly hope they're trolls. I saw the afk in the dungeons topic since I got curious and I just want to never go there again. I know it's common knowledge the of forums is horrible but sometimes I go and check how the community is trying to influence the devs and what horrors to expect since square apparently loves to implement what those players ask for -_-
Still pissed off they aren't doing any step forward in all the issues we've been talking here, but hey, let's post about the retainers outfits, it's of the utmost importance and our first priority. Fuck that shit.
Primal drops may be an improvement over 1.0 Ifrit/Moogle, but SE got it right with 1.0 Garuda and decided to trash that very fair system.
Relics are more easily obtainable for well geared and skilled groups than inferior primal weapons are to less geared/experienced players.
That doesn't sound like a problem?
The issue is that Relics are too easily obtainable not the opposite way around. Garuda system would have been preferable but the system in place really isn't that bad.
And I say this as someone who would have to PUG a relic since my FC is largely in a different timezone to me. So it's not like I'm rolling around in a pile of relics laughing at people who can't get them.
I don't think they're too easy or hard to obtain considering they're pretty much mandatory for solid clearing of Coil. The issue is that people are looking at relics through the same lense of XI; that they are these all-encompassing legendary items of unfathomable power. They're not. They're essentially AF weapons, and AF isn't some be-all end-all gear set in this game either.
If people are expecting them to unlock secret WSes and deal innate triple damage and augment abilities and take half a year or longer to obtain, then yes, they're going to think they're too easy. If you consider them just another gear tier above primal weapons en-route to clearing the next big dungeon, then no, they're not too easy to obtain, especially as you have to clear the previous hardest content to obtain them.
Only one I hate of these is #3. Even when crashing I feel super bad that my pt can't kick me.
I never understood why people get upset about DD farming. I do think dungeons/guildhests need an xp buff to put them on par, though.
Primal weapon drop system I think is fine, and I went about 1/50 to get my ifrit weap.
i have no complains anymore about movement after changing to legacy mode and setting my controls up likein FFXI made life soooo much easier. the only complaint i have is that the camera zooms in when it hits a wall and you dont see the whole battlfield. in some hectic fights a bit shitty to readjust but i can live and dodge with it 1000 times better then with standart controls
You really need to bind left/right to MOVE left/right, and not STRAFE left/right. This is what's causing backpedal in Legacy mode.
Then all you fucking do is hold LMB/RMB while moving wherever you want. If you have anything you want to instacast while moving, have it on a key convenient to reach (ex from WASD: QERTGFVCXZ). You can't have that many that you need fucking octopus hands to do so.
They were made out to be legendary weapons in 1.0 though and at one point it was even said the difficulty in obtaining them would be increased as more people than expected obtained them in 1.0. They seem to have backtracked on this though. That could be where some of the conflict in opinions come from.
The issue is that they take an hour and a half to complete.
In 1.0, one of the things I loved most was the fact that obtaining a Relic was both doable but required groups to work together the entire way. The only part you could (really) solo was Hamlet and buying the weapon/creating it. These still could be done in groups very easily, farming the materia in an SB party and doing static Hamlet. Hamlet was terrible, no arguments there, but the rest of the quest? Solid. The difficulty generally became harder, you had to learn to fucking play your class if you wanted your spiritbond done in any normal amount of time, the Job Leves were dope, and Ifrit Extreme was still harder than Titan Hard by a mile. (If only because it wasn't scripted to all fuck)
But because they take an hour and a half, there is almost no reason to do the Primals (and they reward nothing of value, at least in 1.0 you could SB the weapons for the best-of-the-best materia) and so it leaves the current game looking like AK, Relics (1-1-1 Primal), and Coil. If the Primals were actually useful, difficult, or rewarding, there would be less to complain about. In 1.0 I farmed Garuda for no reason at all just because it was a fun fight.
**Again, sans tokens which take 3 additional hours. That's two Relics in a Saturday.
